ECC Baseball Report - Week 10

Player of the Week
AJ Vigliotti, Staten Island (So, C - Staten Island, N.Y.)
Vigliotti hit .700 this week in four games and finished the week with an on-base percentage of .800. Three of his ten hits went for extra bases including a pair of doubles and a home run. He finished with an OPS of 2.000, drew five walks, and scored three runs in CSI's series with the Lions.

Pitcher of the Week
Ryan Kehoe, Staten Island (So, P/IF - Staten Island, N.Y.)
Kehoe tossed his third complete game shutout of the season against Lincoln in a 7-0 Dolphins victory on Friday to earn his fifth win of the year. In the seven-inning effort, Kehoe allowed just four hits and struck out 10 batters.

Rookie of the Week
Jorsixt Jimenez, Queens (Fr, OF/P - Queens, N.Y.)
Jimenez continued to keep his bat hot as he recorded a batting average of .556 with .944 slugging percentage with 10 hits, one double, two home runs, seven RBI, seven runs scored, one walk, and one stolen base in the four-game series against Mercy. The rookie recorded three multi-hit games with two four-hit games to lead the Knights' offense to run his tally to 16 multi-hit and 13 multi-RBI games on the season.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Zach Ashline, Mercy (Fr, OF - Colonie, N.Y.)
Ashline hit a team-high .700 (7-for-10) with an RBI and six runs scored. The freshman went 1-for-2 with three runs at Queens on Friday. The outfielder went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two runs in the split against Queens on Saturday. Ashline ended the week going 3-for-3 with a run and an RBI in the win over Queens on Sunday.

Nolan Giblin, Mercy (Sr, 3B - Syracuse, N.Y.)
Giblin hit .421 (8-for-19) with a team-high seven RBI to go along with six runs, a home run, a triple and a double. The senior went 2-for-5 with a home run and four RBI against Queens on Friday. The third baseman then went 4-for-8 with three runs and three RBI against Queens on Saturday. Giblin ended the week going 2-for-6 with two runs in the win over Queens on Sunday.

Robby Keane, Molloy (Sr, IF/OF - Farmingdale, N.Y.)
Keane was a catalyst for the Lions out of the nine spot of the lineup. The graduate student reached base via a hit in all of Molloy's five contests, including three multi-hit performances and drove in a run in four of five games. To cap the week, Keane hit .529 (9-of-17), scored six runs, drove in five, and drew four walks while getting on base at a .619 clip.

Brian Morrisey, Molloy (Sr, P - Commack, N.Y.)
Morrisey tossed a complete game against D'Youville on Sunday (Apr. 23). The right-hander allowed one run on six hits while striking out a season-high eight batters to improve to 6-2 on the campaign.

ECC Team Notes

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Lincoln: No team notes submitted.

Mercy: The Mercy College baseball team went 2-2 on the week with a four-game split against Queens. Mercy was led by senior Nolan Giblin who had a team-high seven RBI. Mercy resumes action on Tuesday when they play at Pace at 3 p.m.

Molloy: Molloy went 4-1 on the week, winning a non-conference game against Pace, 10-9, Tuesday, April 18, and took three-of-four from D'Youville over the weekend. The Lions now sit at 28-14 overall and 15-5 in conference play and will host a four-game series with Lincoln beginning Friday, April 28.

Queens: The Knights earned a 2-2 ECC series split against Mercy as they matched their last season's wins total to improve to 26-11. It will be a very busy for Queens as they play six games in six days beginning with two non-conference games against Adelphi (Apr. 25) and Wilmington (Apr. 26) before welcoming D'Youville to town for a four-game ECC weekend series.

Staten Island: The Dolphins picked up three huge conference wins this past weekend as they won their series against Lincoln University three games to one.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Baseball team (18-19, 11-5 ECC) went 1-2 last week, losing two of three to New Haven. STAC returns to action on April 24 against New Haven (3:30 p.m./6:30 p.m.) and takes on Staten Island in a four-game ECC series April 28-30.
