ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Jaden Caballero, Mercy (So, OF/SS - Newburgh, N.Y.)
Caballero hit a team-high .385 (5-for-13) with three runs, three stolen bases, two RBI, a triple, and a double in four games this week. The sophomore opened the week going 1-for-5 with a run and two stolen bases against Goldey-Beacom on Saturday. The outfielder ended the week going 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI and a stolen base in the Mavericks' win over Le Moyne on Sunday.
Joseph Gonzalez, Mercy (So, SS - Monroe, N.Y.)
Gonzalez hit .313 (5-for-16) with a hit in each of the four games Mercy played. The sophomore also had a team-high four RBI and five runs scored with one double. The shortstop opened the week going 2-for-6 with three runs and three RBI against Goldey-Beacom and Le Moyne on Saturday. Gonzalez ended the week going 3-for-10 with two runs, a double, and an RBI against Le Moyne and Goldey-Beacom on Sunday.
Jake McCarthy, Molloy (Sr, 3B - Northport, N.Y.)
McCarthy returned to the Molloy lineup with a three-run home run in game one against Millersville. The graduate student totaled four RBI on the week, three hits, and slugged .750.
Gabriel Sanchez, Lincoln (So, P - Anthony, N.M.)
Recorded the team's first season-opening win since 2017, tossing 6.0 innings of scoreless ball while allowing a career-low one hit with three strikeouts to help the Lions defeat Clark Atlanta in the Peachtree City Classic.

Mercy: The Mercy College baseball team went 1-3 to begin the season against Goldey-Beacom and Le Moyne. The Mavericks were led by sophomore Jaden Caballero who hit a team-high .385. Mercy resumes action on Tuesday when they play at UNC Pembroke at 3 p.m. |

Molloy: The No. 22 Molloy baseball team began its season in Morehead City, NC at the Morehead City Challenge. The Lions went 3-0 on the weekend, defeating Millersville, 5-0, and 2-1, Saturday, February 18 and Assumption, 10-2, Sunday, February 19. Molloy sits at 3-0 in the campaign and will travel to Myrtle Beach, SC to play in the Northeast Challenge on Friday, February 24. |
