ECC Volleyball Report - Week 10

Player of the Week
Kathleen Doherty, Molloy (Jr, OH - Massapequa Park, N.Y.)
Doherty led the Lions offensively last week, averaging 3.38 kills per set with a .313 attack percentage. The outside hitter also averaged 3.50 digs per set, putting up double-doubles against both Mercy and Southern Connecticut. On the week, she added eight assists and one service ace.

Defensive Player of the Week
Anjeline Arnakis, Queens (So, OH/MB - Bayside, N.Y.)
Arnakis put on a blocking party as the sophomore tallied eight kills on a .438 hitting % to go with career-high eight blocks as Queens defeated Mercy 3-1 to end their homestand on a high note.

Setter of the Week
Despina Boudouris, Queens (So, S - Athens, Greece)
Boudouris tallied her eighth double-double of the year as Queens defeated Mercy 3-1 to end an eight-game losing streak to the Mavericks. The sophomore notched 45 assists, 10 digs to go with three kills and one service ace to help Queens earn a series split.

Rookie of the Week
Kendall Conrad, Queens (Fr, OH - Carrolltown, Pa.)
Conrad notched a team-high 16 kills while hitting .351 with three blocks to help Queens defeat Mercy 3-1 as the Knights earned a series split Saturday afternoon.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Christina Franco, Queens (So, OH - Lynbrook, N.Y.)
Franco tallied her eighth double-double of the year with 13 kills and 14 digs as Queens defeated Mercy for the first time since the 2017 season with a 3-1 victory Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Martin, Daemen (Sr, OH - Fort Wayne, Ind.)
Daemen University senior outside hitter Jordan Martin shined in the Wildcats' Senior Night on Wednesday, leading all hitters on the floor and knocking down a career-high 17 kills to average 4.25 kills per set, while adding 10 digs to finish with her third double-double of the season. She added two assists and an assisted block in Daemen's 3-1 victory over Roberts Wesleyan to claim their second straight ECC regular season title.

Olivia Price, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, OH - Oviedo, Fla.)
Price had 26 kills, 24 digs, and four total blocks to help Roberts Wesleyan to a 1-1 record last week. Her best outing came in win over D'Youville in which she tallied a double-double of 20 kills and 10 digs to go along with three total blocks. 

Larissa Schneid, Mercy (Sr, OH - Sao Paulo, Brazil)
Schneid had a team-high 25 kills with 28 digs as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened the week with six kills and 10 digs in the win over Molloy on Thursday. The outside hitter ended the week with a match-high 19 kills to go along with 18 digs at Queens on Saturday.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: After winning their second straight ECC regular season title with a 3-1 win over Roberts Wesleyan last week, the Daemen University women's volleyball team wraps up the regular season this upcoming weekend on the road. The Wildcats will face Mercy on Saturday, Nov. 5 in the final conference match, then head to take on former ECC-foe Bridgeport on Sunday, Nov. 6 to wrap up the regular season.

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Mercy: The Mercy College volleyball team went 1-1 on the week with a win over Molloy and a loss at Queens. Mercy was led by senior Yarianne Gonzalez who had a team-high 81 assists on the week. The Mavericks resume action on Saturday, November 5th when they host Daemen at 12 p.m.

Molloy: Molloy went 1-1 on the week, falling to Mercy on the road in five sets before sweeping Southern Connecticut State to conclude non-league play. This week, the Lions will face Queens at home on Tuesday (Nov. 1) before heading to Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday (Nov. 5) to conclude the regular season.

Queens: The Knights defeated Mercy 3-1 in their lone match of the week. The win over the Mavericks was Queens first victory since the 2017 season.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts women's volleyball team fell to Mercy at home on Saturday, 3-1. The Redhawks travel to both D'Youville and Daemen this week.
