ECC Volleyball Report - Week Eight

	Player of the Week Maggie Burns, Daemen (Sr, OH - Louisville, Ky.) Daemen University senior outside hitter Maggie Burns had an outstanding afternoon, leading the team offensively for the ninth time this season in the Wildcats' 3-1 win over D'Youville on Saturday. Burns accounted for 1/3 of Daemen's 61 kills on the day, tallying a career-high 21 kills (5.25 kills/set) for a .333 hitting percentage on the day. She added two aces, two assists, and eight digs. Burns' 21 kills marks five more than her previous high (16), set on Sept. 30, 2021 against Roberts Wesleyan.
	Defensive Player of the Week Mickaley Monahan, Daemen (Sr, DS - Saline, Mich.) Daemen University senior defensive specialist Mickaley Monahan tallied a career-high 24 digs (6.0 digs/set) in the Wildcats' 3-1 victory over D'Youville on Saturday afternoon. Saturday's 24 digs marks eight more than Monahan's previous high of 16, set on Sept. 3, 2021 against Walsh. Monahan added two aces on the day, moving to second on the team in service aces with 17 on the season.
	Setter of the Week Dunja Masic, Daemen (Jr, S - McHenry, Ill.) Daemen University junior Dunja Masic was the primary setter for the Wildcats in their 3-1 victory over D'Youville on Saturday. Masic finished with a season-high 48 assists (12.0 assists/set), and nearly had a double-double with eight digs on the day. Masic added four kills (1.0 kills/set) on seven attacks for a .286 hitting percentage and finished with two service aces. Masic's 48 assists marks the second highest in her career (51 marks her highest, set in her collegiate debut against Mercyhurst on March 25, 2021).
	Rookie of the Week Olivia Price, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, OH - Oviedo, Fla.) Rookie Price stuffed the stat sheet with seven kills, nine digs, two service aces, and two total blocks as the Redhawks took on Rochester in their only match laat week.

ECC Team Notes

	Daemen: After topping crosstown ECC foe D'Youville with a 3-1 victory on Saturday, the Daemen University women's volleyball team has a busy slate this upcoming week. The Wildcats take on a pair of non-league matches this week, hosting Gannon on Tuesday at 6 p.m., and traveling to St. Rose on Friday at 6 p.m. Daemen then resumes ECC play on Saturday and Sunday, traveling to play Queens on Saturday at 1 p.m. and taking on Molloy on Sunday at 11 a.m.
	D'Youville: No team notes submitted.
	Mercy: The Mercy College volleyball team was idle last week. Mercy resumes action on Monday when they host Caldwell at 7 p.m.
	Molloy: The Lions stepped out of league play this week, topping Pace University 3-1 on Thursday (Oct. 13). Molloy will have three matches in a span of three days against Holy Family (Oct. 21), D'Youville (Oct. 22) and Daemen (Oct. 23)
	Queens: The Knights were on a bye-week and return to action on Saturday as they welcome Daemen University to Flushing on Saturday before concluding the week against D'Youville Sunday afternoon.
	Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to the University of Rochester last week. The Redhawks host Mercy on Saturday at noon.
