Angie Vizcaino Araujo, Mercy (Jr, OH - Santo Domingo Oeste, Dominican Republic)
Vizcaino Araujo opened her Mercy with a team-high-tying 27 kills to go along with 21 digs as Mercy went 2-0 to open the season. The junior opened her Mercy career with a double-double by way of 15 kills and 14 digs in the win over Southern Connecticut on Friday. The outside hitter ended the week with 12 kills and seven digs in the win over Assumption on Friday.
Alexis Deodat, Queens (Jr, RS/MB - Riverview, Fla.)
The senior from Riverview, Fla. started all four matches in the Long Island Invitational as she helped Queens to a 2-2 start. Deodat tallied her first double-double of the season against New Haven with 12 kills and 12 digs while notching two service aces. She would match those numbers in the five-set victory over Post as she posted her second double-double with 12 kills and 12 digs with two service aces and two blocks.
Christina Franco, Queens (So, OH - Lynbrook, N.Y.)
Franco picked off where she left last season as she quickly went to work notching 36 kills, 45 digs, and six service aces in the Long Island Invitational. She combined for her 23 kills and 28 digs in the 2-0 day as Queens defeated Nyack and Post. In the five-set victory over the Eagles, Franco tallied her first double-double of the season with 12 kills and 23 digs to help Queens improve to 2-2 on the season
Jaycee Karelus, D'Youville (So, OH - Churchville, N.Y.)
Jaycee Karelus had a stellar performance on the court for the Saints, pacing the team with 25 kills over four matches. The Churchville, N.Y. native finished the weekend with 1.79 kills-per-set. Karelus was also credited with 14 digs and four service aces; while averaging .64 blocks-per-set.

ECC Team Notes
Daemen: The Daemen women's volleyball team was idle this weekend. The Wildcats open up the 2022 season at home on Sunday with the Wildcat Den Classic tournament, where they will play Franklin Pierce, Clarion, and Mercyhurst at the tournament that runs September 4-5. Daemen will be led by first-year head coach Eli Irizarry, who takes over for 2021 ECC Coach of the Year Stephanie Albano. Irizarry returns 12 players and five All-Conference selections from last season's East Region championship team. |

D'Youville: The D'Youville University women's volleyball team went 2-2 over the weekend, bringing home wins over St. Michael's and Kutztown at the SNHU/Saint Anselm Tournament. |

Mercy: The Mercy College volleyball team went 2-0 on the week with wins over Southern Connecticut State and Assumption. The Mavericks were led by senior Larissa Schneid and junior Angie Vizcaino Araujo who both had a team-high 27 kills. Mercy resumes action on Thursday, September 1st when they play at Caldwell at 5 p.m. |

Queens: The Knights went 2-2 in the Long Island Invitational at home including a 2-0 Saturday as they swept Nyack before a five-set thriller against Post moved them to .500 on the young season. It will be another busy week as a season-high eight-match road stand opens beginning with a trip to Dominican University Tuesday evening. Queens will travel to Georgian Court for three matches as they match up against Sheperd on Friday, before concluding the week against Saint Rose and Georgian Court on Saturday. |

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts Wesleyan women's volleyball team traveled to the Saint Anselm/SNHU tournament over the weekend. The Redhawks went 1-3, picking up a win against Saint Michael's. Roberts will host Brockport on Wednesday, Sept. 7. |
