ECC Weekly Honor Roll
Caroline Hany-Fawzy, Queens (So - Alexandria, Egypt)
Fawzy went 2-0 in singles play to improve her record to 6-1 on the season as the sophomore recorded two straight-set victories defeating Molloy Camilla Caballero Friday afternoon before ending the week with a win over Viktoriia Pavlovets of STAC.
Yulia Kashtelian, D'Youvlle (So - Lviv, Ukraine)
Kashtelian picked up a win at No. 1 singles vs. Daemen's Frida Rubio. She rallied to take the final two sets to win by a score of 3-6, 6-1, 6-1.
Gabriela Sciarrotta, Queens (Sr - Woodmere, N.Y.)
The senior went 2-0 on Saturday evening against STAC as she notched a victory at No. 1 doubles with a 7-5 comeback win before concluding the night with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Samanta Robles at No. 4 singles.
Kitsa Scime, Daemen (So - Williamsville, N.Y.)
Improved to 7-3 in singles play following a 6-3, 6-0 win over Khushi Agarwal of D'Youville at No. 2 singles in Daemen's lone match of the week. Also picked up a win at No. 1 doubles to help Daemen earn its first league win of the year.

Daemen: Daemen (2-4, 1-2 ECC) will play one match this week, as they host District of Columbia in an ECC match on Friday (Oct. 14). The Wildcats posted a 5-2 win over D'Youville this past Saturday to earn their first conference win of the year. Sophomore Kitsa Scime (Williamsville, N.Y.) is a team-best 7-3 in singles play this year, while junior Frida Rubio (San Diego, Calif.) stands just one win shy of becoming just the seventh player in program history to post 20 career singles wins. Freshman Carly Armitage (Rochester, N.Y.) has won three of her last four singles matches and is 4-6 in singles play overall this year. |
