Firebirds Back in Win Column Following Conference Win Over Daemen University
WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y.- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team bounced back from their first loss of the season with a decisive 6-1 conference victory over Daemen University, Friday night. The Firebirds move to 4-1 on the season, while the Wildcats fell to 2-5.
The Firebirds won all three doubles matches to earn the 1-0 lead going into singles play.
Freshman, Célia Bastin earned the first singles point at No.5 with a dominating 6-0, 6-0 performance against her opponent. She was followed by teammate Claudia Bahamon who then picked up a win at No.6, and Sofia Bellucco brought home the victory after a win at No.4.
UDC (4-1, 2-0 ECC) will close out their road trip tomorrow with another conference match up against D'Youville University. First serve is slated to begin at 4:00 PM.
