Staten Island: The Dolphins opened this week’s slate on the road against Alliance University where they picked up a 2-1 win behind a game-winning goal from Javier Campos. Kept in the match by seven saves from goalkeeper Amari Thompson, Campos secured the Dolphins' win when launched a strike off the far post and in from well beyond the penalty box. The Dolphins returned home for a conference matchup against Mercy on Saturday and battled to a scoreless draw. Thompson made a pair of incredible saves down the stretch to keep the Mavericks off the board, but CSI’s late scoring opportunities were also denied by the post and by the Mercy defense positioned along the goal line. The Dolphins travel to the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday as the team continues their late-season playoff push. |
