ECC Team Notes

Daemen: Daemen (5-6-2, 2-3-1 ECC) went 1-1-0 last week, as they suffered a 4-1 non-league loss at Le Moyne and a 6-1 conference win over D'Youville. The six goals in the win over D'Youville tied the program record for most goals scored during Daemen's NCAA Division II era (2015- present). The Wildcats scored just nine seconds into the game against D'Youville. The Wildcats will host two Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference teams this week, as Lock Haven comes to town Wednesday (Oct. 21) and Slippery Rock visits Saturday (Oct. 22). Senior Derek Bartlo (Williamsville, N.Y.) scored three goals last week and ranks sixth among the ECC leaders in goals (7) and fifth in points (17). His seven goals and 17 points are the most by a Daemen player since Noah Keem put up nine goals and 22 points during the 2017 season.

District of Columbia: Men's Soccer fell to STAC 3-1 at home. They will head to N.Y. for a midweek match up against Dominican College before coming back home to host CSI on Saturday.

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Mercy: The No. 23 Mercy College men's soccer team went 0-0-1 on the week with a 0-0 tie at Staten Island on Saturday. The Mavericks were led by sophomore Eirik Elvestad who made three saves. Mercy resumes action on Tuesday when they host East Stroudsburg at 3 p.m.

Molloy: The Lions traveled to Rochester and played Roberts Wesleyan to a 1-1 draw. Molloy now sits at 7-2-6 overall and 5-0-2 in ECC play. Molloy will host Millersville Wednesday (Oct. 19), and conclude its conference schedule Saturday (Oct. 22) against D'Youville.

Queens: The Knights went 2-0 as they earned two shutout wins to the score of 5-0 to tie the program record for most wins in a single season with 11. Queens hit the road for the first in the month of October in a crucial ECC match-up against STAC Saturday afternoon.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts men's soccer team tied Molloy University on Saturday 1-1. The Redhawks are now 7-4-3 this season with two games remaining. Roberts will travel to Salem University on Saturday for a non-conference match.

Staten Island: The Dolphins opened this week’s slate on the road against Alliance University where they picked up a 2-1 win behind a game-winning goal from Javier Campos.  Kept in the match by seven saves from goalkeeper Amari Thompson, Campos secured the Dolphins' win when launched a strike off the far post and in from well beyond the penalty box.  The Dolphins returned home for a conference matchup against Mercy on Saturday and battled to a scoreless draw.  Thompson made a pair of incredible saves down the stretch to keep the Mavericks off the board, but CSI’s late scoring opportunities were also denied by the post and by the Mercy defense positioned along the goal line.  The Dolphins travel to the University of the District of Columbia on Saturday as the team continues their late-season playoff push.

St. Thomas Aquinas: St. Thomas Aquinas (5-5-4, 1-2-3 ECC) went 1-1-0 on the week, falling to Bloomsburg 3-1, before defeating UDC 3-1. STAC next hosts Queens on October 22 (12:00 p.m.).
