ECC Women's Soccer Report - Week Seven

Offensive Player of the Week
Kayla Camacho, Mercy (Jr, F - Valley Stream, N.Y.)
Camacho had a team-high three goals and six points on the week as Mercy went 2-0. The junior opened the week with the game-winning goal in Mercy's win over Le Moyne on Wednesday. The forward ended the week with two goals in the win over STAC on Saturday.

Defensive Player of the Week
Nicolette Knauf, Roberts Wesleyan (Jr, GK - Schenectady, N.Y.)
Knauf made 11 saves and posted a .917 save percentage last week to help the Redhawks to a 2-0 record. She began the week with nine saves in a 2-1 win over Chestnut Hill and followed with two saves in a 2-0 shutout over ECC foe, Staten Island.

Rookie of the Week
Ella White, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, M - Clifton Park, N.Y.)
White scored two goals for four points in a pair of Roberts Wesleyan wins last week. Both goals were game-winners as the Redhawks topped Chestnut Hill, 2-1, and Staten Island, 2-0.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Sarah Marino, Queens (Sr, M/F - Enfield, Conn.)
Marino tallied her second career brace as she notched two goals in the 8-0 victory over Lincoln in ECC play. She would record four points and her first game-winning goal of the season to help the Knights move to fourth place in the ECC standing.

Natalia Piotrowski, Molloy (So, B - Flushing, N.Y.)
Piotrowski netted two goals on two shots in Molloy's, 4-0, win over Daemen on Saturday. The sophomore collected both goals off corner kicks.

Jennifer Silva, Mercy (Jr, M - Jurupa Valley, Calif.)
Silva recorded a goal and an assist on the week as Mercy went 2-0. The junior recorded an assist in the win over Le Moyne on Wednesday and scored the game-winning goal in the win over STAC on Saturday.

Sarah Tappeto, Molloy (Jr, B - Merrick, N.Y.)
Tappeto was a focal point in Molloy's shutout victory over Daemen. The junior handed out two assists to lead the Lions to its eighth shutout of the season. With two assists against Daemen, Tappeto, became the all-time career assists leader in program history (21) and set a new single-season record for assists. She currently leads the country with 15 assists.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: Daemen (1-9-2, 1-3-0 ECC) will play its first home game in a month when the Wildcats host cross-town rival D'Youville in an ECC match Wednesday afternoon. The Wildcats closed out a stretch of seven-straight road games last week, as they battled Assumption to a 2-2 draw on Tuesday and then suffered a 4-0 loss at regionally-ranked Molloy on Saturday. Senior Tatyjana Scalisi (Williamsville, N.Y.) scored her second goal of the year in the tie with Assumption. Senior Tori DeLappi (Medina, Ohio) has started 10 of the teams 12 games in goal. She ranks third among the ECC leaders in total saves (53) and fourth in goals against average (1.85).

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Lincoln: The Lions fell to 0-8 (0-3 ECC) with losses to Chestnut Hill and Queens last week. Lincoln returns to action on Wednesday with a non-conference matchup against Trinity before returning to ECC play against St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday. Both games will be played at home.  

Mercy: The No. 15 Mercy College women's soccer team went 2-0 on the week with wins over Le Moyne and STAC. The Mavericks were led by junior Kayla Camacho who had a team-high three goals on the week. Mercy resumes action on Monday, October 10th when they play at Bentley at 3 p.m.

Molloy: The Lions went 1-0-1 on the week, drawing Georgian Court, 2-2, and defeating Queens, 6-1. Molloy now sits at 8-2-2 overall and 4-1 in ECC play. Molloy will travel to play Jefferson Wednesday (Oct. 5) and return to ECC play Daemen at home Saturday (Oct. 8).

Queens: Sarah Marino led the Knights with a brace as the Knights went 1-0 on the week with an 8-0 victory over Lincoln. The Knights return to non-conference action as they host Holy Family Tuesday evening before ending the week against Saint Rose Saturday evening.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team is now 10-1 after grabbing a 2-1 road win against Chestnut Hill and a 2-0 home win over CSI. The Redhawks take on Salem University on the road on Tuesday and then host Molloy on Saturday.

Staten Island: The Dolphins took the pitch just once this week for a conference matchup on the road at Roberts Wesleyan.  Despite 10 more saves from goalkeeper Sara Villacres, the Dolphins failed to register a goal and lost 2-0.

St. Thomas Aquinas: St. Thomas Aquinas (2-8-2, 1-4 ECC) went 0-1-1 on the week, tying Felician 1-1, before losing to Mercy 4-0. STAC visits Wilmington on October 11 (3:30 p.m.) and then Lincoln on October 15 (2:00 p.m.).
