ECC Women's Soccer Report - Week Three

Offensive Player of the Week
Sienna Nicolich, Molloy (Sr, F - Glen Cove, N.Y.)
Nicolich was the centerpiece of the Lions' offense, picking up two goals and an assist for five points on the week. She started the week against Wilmington with an assist on a free kick. Then in Molloy's ECC opening win against CSI, the senior netted two goals in the second half to seal the 5-0 win.

Defensive Player of the Week
Kamy Anaya, Mercy (Fr, GK - Long Beach, Calif.)
Anaya went 2-0 in goal with two shutouts and seven saves. The freshman opened the week with five saves in the Mavericks' 1-0 win over Adelphi on Tuesday. Anaya ended the week with two saves in the 2-0 win at Daemen on Saturday.

Rookie of the Week
Eleonora Cecchini, D'Youville (Fr, M - San Marino, Fiorentino, Italy)
Cecchini scored two goals last week, both of which were game-winners, to secure victories over Bluefield St. and Queens for the Saints. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Kayla Camacho, Mercy (Jr, F - Valley Stream, N.Y.)
Camacho had a game-high two assists in the win at Daemen on Saturday.

Kara Choate, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, F - Gasport, N.Y.)
Choate scored the game-winning goal in the Redhawks' 3-2 win over St. Thomas Aquinas. 

Ancksu Dixon, Mercy (Fr, F - Freeport, N.Y.)
Dixon scored the game-winning goal in Mercy's 2-0 win at Daemen on Saturday.

Reaghan Duval, D'Youville (Gr, GK - Waxhaw, N.C.)
Duval went 2-0 last week with a pair of shutouts. She made five saves against Bluefield St. and four against Queens for a total of nine on the week.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: Daemen suffered losses to regionally-ranked Saint Anselm (3-1) and regionally-ranked Mercy (2-0) last week. The Wildcats will face their second nationally-ranked opponent of the season Wednesday when they travel to 24th-ranked Southern New Hampshire. Daemen caps the week with an ECC game at Queens on Saturday.

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Lincoln: Lincoln fell to 0-3 with losses to Bloomfield and Felician last week. This week, the Lions travel to Salem (W.Va.) on Wednesday before hosting Roberts Wesleyan in their ECC opener on Saturday. 

Mercy: The Mercy College women's soccer team went 2-0 on the week with wins over Adelphi and Daemen. The Mavericks were led by freshman Ancksu Dixon who scored the game-winning goal in the win over Daemen. Mercy resumes action on Tuesday when they host Holy Family at 3 p.m.

Molloy: Molloy went 1-1 this week. They fell to Wilmington, 2-1, Wednesday, September 7, but defeated CSI Saturday, September 10 in the ECC-opener against CSI where they scored five goals in the second half.

Queens: The Knights went 0-2 on the week including an ECC loss to DYU. Queens will use the week to prepare for Daemen on Saturday.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts Wesleyan women's soccer team hosted STAC on Saturday for the ECC opener. The Redhawks came away with a 3-2 win to continue its perfect record to start the season. Roberts (5-0) will travel to Lincoln on Sunday.

Staten Island: No team notes submitted.

St. Thomas Aquinas: St. Thomas Aquinas (1-4) went 1-1 on the week, defeating Alliance (2-0), before falling to Roberts Wesleyan (3-2). Sarai Rodriguez, Ileana Santiago, Natalie Oden and Heidi Torre recorded a goal apiece on the week. STAC hosts Molloy on September 17 (12:00 p.m.).
