ECC Women's Soccer Report - Week Four

Offensive Player of the Week
Eleni Sofroniou, Molloy (Jr, M - Dix Hills, N.Y.)
In a 1-0-1 week for Molloy, Sofroniou netted three goals on three shots. The junior tallied the game-tying goal in Thursday's tie against Bridgeport and collected her first career multi-goal game in Molloy's 4-0 win over STAC on Saturday.

Defensive Player of the Week
Shannon Kilian, Molloy (Jr, GK - Levittown, N.Y.)
In a 1-0-1 week for the Lions, Kilian allowed one goal and made nine saves for a .900 save percentage. She made seven saves in a 1-1 tie against Bridgeport, and shutout STAC, 4-0, while making two saves to earn her sixth shutout of the season.

Rookie of the Week
Kaeleigh Romero, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, M - Port Washington, N.Y.)
Romero had a hat trick and added an assist for seven points in the Redhawks' 7-0 win over Lincoln. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Nikki Bermudez, Mercy (Gr, M - Oceanside, N.Y.)
Bermudez had a team-high six points on two goals and two assists as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The graduate student opened the week with the game-winning goal in Mercy's win over Holy Family on Tuesday and ended the week with a goal and two assists in the win over D'Youville on Saturday.

Kayla Camacho, Mercy (Jr, F - Valley Stream, N.Y.)
Camacho had five points on two goals and an assist as Mercy went 2-0 on the week. The junior opened the week with a goal and an assist in the win over Holy Family on Tuesday before ending the week with a goal in the win over D'Youville on Saturday.

Marina Pappas, Queens (Jr, M - New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
Pappas netted her first career game-winning goal in Queens' 1-0 victory over Daemen in the lone game for the Knights on the week. The New Hyde Park native tallied the lone shot on goal in the 61st minute as the Knights picked up their first ECC win and give first-year head coach Thomas Paris his first career victory.

Ella White, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, M - Clifton Park, N.Y.)
White scored two goals in the Redhawks 7-0 win over Lincoln.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: Daemen (0-6-1, 0-2-0) suffered road losses to 13th-ranked Southern New Hampshire (3-0) and Queens (1-0) last week. The Wildcats out shot Queens 9-2 during Saturday's 1-0 loss and the Wildcats have not out shot four of their first seven opponents. Four of Daemen's first seven opponents were ranked in last week's USC East Region poll. Daemen plays just one game this week, a non-conference match at Cedarville on Wednesday.

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Lincoln: Lincoln fell to 0-5 with losses to Salem (W.Va.) and Roberts Wesleyan last week. The Lions continue ECC play this coming week with a road trip to Molloy on Wednesday before a home contest against D'Youville on Saturday.

Mercy: The No. 25 Mercy College women's soccer team went 2-0 on the week with wins over Holy Family and D'Youville. The Mavericks were led by graduate student Nikki Bermudez who had two goals and two assists. Mercy resumes action on Wednesday when they host Queens at 1 p.m.

Molloy: Molloy finished the week 1-0-1. The Lions battled Bridgeport to a 1-1 draw Thursday, September 15, and defeated STAC, 4-0, Saturday, September 17.

Queens: The Knights went 1-0 as they defeated Daemen 1-0 in ECC play at home. Queens opens a two-game road trip as they take on Mercy College Wednesday (9/21) afternoon before concluding the road trip against Roberts Wesleyan University Saturday (9/24) afternoon.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts women's soccer team improved to 6-0 with a shutout win over Lincoln. The Redhawks will travel to D'Youville on Wednesday before returning home for a homecoming weekend game against Queens.

Staten Island: No team notes submitted.

St. Thomas Aquinas: St. Thomas Aquinas (1-5) went 0-1 on the week, falling to Molloy, 4-0 STAC next hosts Chestnut Hill on September 21 (3:00 p.m.), before visiting Staten Island on September 24 (11:00 a.m.).
