ECC Men's Lacrosse Report - Week Five

Offensive Player of the Week
Brady Kearnan, Mercy (Sr, A - Courtice, Ontario)
Kearnan had a game-high eight points on four goals and four assists with two ground balls and one caused turnover in Mercy's win over Wilmington on Saturday.

Defensive Player of the Week
Christian Michaels, Molloy (So, GK - Smithtown, N.Y.)
Michaels had a standout performance to help Molloy top Georgian Court, making a season-high 17 saves. On the week, he totaled 20 saves for a .667-save percentage and allowed just 10 goals in over 100 minutes of action.

Co-Rookie of the Week
Ryan Christensen, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fr, A - Old Bridge, N.J.)
After missing a game due to injury, Christensen returned to action against Caldwell, scoring seven goals, including the overtime game-winner in STAC's 10-9 victory. The freshman attack also picked up a ground ball in the contest.

Co-Rookie of the Week
Stefano Evan, D'Youville (Fr, A - Vestal, N.Y.)
Evan lifted the Saints to a 16-9 win over Felician with an eight point performance on four goals and four assists. He scored twice in the fourth quarter and all four assists were in the second half, helping D'Youville lock up the win. He also added four ground balls on the afternoon.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Chris Delaney, Molloy (Jr, M - West Islip, N.Y.)
Delaney tallied a nine point week for the Lions, scoring four goals in a win over Georgian Court before putting up two goals and three assists in Molloy's win over Bridgeport. The junior also added six ground balls and three caused turnovers on the week.

Jake Bowman, Frostburg St. (Sr, M - Clarence Center, N.Y.)
Bowman tallied 13 points on 10 goals and three assists in two Frostburg St. wins last week. He also scooped up five ground balls. He began the week with a seven point outing on five goals and two assists against Malone, before following with a six point (5 G, 1 A) performance against Walsh.

Reece Eck, D'Youville (So, G - Forest Lake, Minn.)
Eck was stellar between the pipes as he recorded 12 saves off 21 shots in a win over Felician. Eck's performance gave him a 57.1 save percentage.

Justin Gerdvil, Mercy (Sr, D - East Northport, N.Y.)
Gerdvil had a game-high four caused turnovers and six ground balls in Mercy's win over Wilmington on Saturday.

ECC Team Notes

Dist. Columbia: UDC fell to Dominican University in their home opener. They will host Chestnut Hill next Saturday in another home match up.

Mercy: The No. 3/4 Mercy College men's lacrosse team went 1-0 on the week with a 19-9 win over Wilmington on Saturday. The Mavericks were led by senior Brady Kearnan who had a game-high eight points. Mercy resumes action on Sunday, March 19th when they host Roberts Wesleyan at 11 a.m.

Molloy: No team notes submitted.

Roberts Wesleyan: Roberts dropped a midweek game last week to No. 1 Le Moyne(11-3), but picked up a 17-8 win over Saint Rose on the weekend. The Redhawks will travel to Mercy on Saturday.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Lacrosse team (3-2) went 1-1 on the week, first falling at Post 9-7, before winning a thrilling 10-9 overtime battle with Caldwell. STAC next visits Dominican on March 15 (4:00 p.m.) and then hosts Frostburg St. on March 18 (11:30 a.m.).
