ECC Men's Lacrosse Report - Week Four

Offensive Player of the Week
Bubba Love, Frostburg St. (Sr, A - Westminster, Md.)
Love had a five-point performance to help Frostburg St. shock No. 1 Tampa to end the defending National Champions' 25-game winning streak. His point total came from three goals and two assists on the day. 

Defensive Player of the Week
Andy Davis, Roberts Wesleyan (So, GK - Baldwinsville, N.Y.)
Davis had 20 saves and allowed just seven goals for a 74.1 save percentage in the Redhawks' 10-7 win over Assumption. 

Rookie of the Week
Ryan Christensen, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fr, A - Old Bridge, N.J.)
Christensen recorded six goals and an assist in two games last week, scoring three apiece in contests against Felician and Bridgeport. He also scooped up five ground balls and caused two turnovers.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

TJ Heyder, Mercy (Sr, A - Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.)
Heyder had a game-high and a career-high-tying six goals with one ground ball and one caused turnover in Mercy's 18-15 win over No. 12 Seton Hill on Saturday.

John Pena, St. Thomas Aquinas (So, A - Bronx, N.Y.)
Pena recorded seven goals and four assists for 11 total points in two games last week. The sophomore attack had four goals and an assist against Felician and then followed it up with a hat-trick plus three helpers at Bridgeport. He also totaled one ground ball and caused a turnover in that span.

Dan Doviak, Roberts Wesleyan (Sr, A - Oswego, N.Y.)
Doviak had six points on five goals and one assist in Roberts Wesleyan's 10-7 win over Assumption.

Justin Gerdvil, Mercy (Sr, D - East Northport, N.Y.)
Gerdvil had a goal, an assist, and a game-high six caused turnovers with five ground balls in Mercy's 18-15 win over No. 12 Seton Hill on Saturday.

ECC Team Notes

Dist. Columbia: UDC went 0-1 on the week falling to Georgian Court. They are at home next Saturday hosting Dominican in their first home game of the season.

Mercy: The No. 5/6 Mercy College men’s lacrosse team went 1-0 on the week with an 18-15 win over Seton Hill on Saturday. The Mavericks were led by senior TJ Heyder who had six goals. Mercy resumes action on Saturday when they host Wilmington at 1 p.m.

Molloy: Molloy opened the season 2-0 with wins over Franklin Pierce and Walsh. The Lions will play at Pace on Wednesday (Mar. 1) and home against Southern New Hampshire on Saturday (Mar. 4).

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Lacrosse team (2-1) picked up a pair of road victories against Felician (12-6) and Bridgeport (13-11). STAC returns to action on March 8 at Post and March 11 versus Caldwell.
