ECC Women's Bowling Report - Week Eight

Bowler of the Week
Haley Youker, Mercyhurst (Gr - East Syracuse, N.Y.)
Youker helped lead Mercyhurst to a 9-1 record and a first place finish at the Griffin Baker Classic with an ECC-best 22.36 frame average. She also led the conference with a 65.3 strike percentage and ranked second with an 87.8 fill percentage on the week.

Rookie of the Week
Madison Brenneman, Kutztown (Fr - York, Pa.)
Brenneman supplied an 18.74 frame average and 80.4 percent fill percentage as the Golden Bears went 6-4 and placed 11th at last weekend's Griffin Baker Classic. Brenneman's frame average and fill percentage were both second-best on the team for the tournament. She also ranked second on the team in strikes (43) and third in spares (39) while completing 100 frames. On the season, Brenneman owns a 17.13 Baker frame average and 73.8 percent fill percentage over 272 frames.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Paige Barkley, Roberts Wesleyan (Jr - Canandaigua, N.Y.)
Led the team with a 184.7 game average, filling 85.6 percent of her frames and making 76.9 percent of her spares.

Megan Hanaway, Kutztown (Jr - Forker River, N.J.)
Junior Megan Hanaway led Kutztown with a 20.07 frame average this past weekend as the Golden Bears went 6-4 overall and finished 11th at the Griffin Baker Classic in New Castle, Del. Hanaway was also best on the team in fill percentage (74.5%) and strikes (47), while recording the second-most spares on the weekend (42). For the season, Hanaway sports an 18.15 Baker frame average and 78.6% fill percentage, both of which rank second on the team.

Daemen: Daemen (29-22) returns to action this weekend for the first time since early January. The Wildcats will take on Saint Vincent in a dual match Friday and then take part in the Brother Patrick Lacey Memorial Tournament hosted by Saint Vincent on Saturday.

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Kutztown: Kutztown went 6-4 at the Griffin Baker Classic last weekend, placing 11th overall in the tournament at Bowlerama in New Castle, Del. The Golden Bears bounced back from a tough start, Saturday, to go 4-1 Sunday with victories over Holy Family, Roberts Wesleyan, Coppin State and finally Long Island in the 11th-place match. Megan Hanaway paced KU with a 20.07 frame average across 101 frames and produced a team-high 87.3% fill percentage. Hanaway also led the team in strikes (47) and was second in spares (42). Freshman Madison Brenneman followed with an 18.74 frame average (100 frames) and Chloe Sromovski produced 18.28 over 102 frames. Kutztown is off this weekend before heading to the Wildcat DII/DIII Invitational Feb. 17-19.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Redhawks competed on February 4-5 at the Griffin Baker Classic, hosted by Chestnut Hill College in New Castle, Del. Overall, the ladies finished with a 5-5 record, capturing a 14th place finish in the 20-team field that featured four of the nation's top ranked teams. Junior Paige Barkley led the team with a 184.7 game average, filling 85.6 percent of her frames and making 76.9% of her spares. Junior Mykenzie Burnett was next, with a 183.7 game average, filling 77.9 percent of her frames and grabbing the team high strike percentage of 40.4 percent. A solid performance was also given by sophomore Luz Torres on the weekend, who averaged a 174.7 and filled 74 percent of her frames.

Saint Anselm: No team notes submitted.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Bowling team placed 19th in the Chestnut Hill College Griffin Baker Classic last weekend, recording a total pin-fall of 6,574. STAC will next be in action on February 11 at the Suffolk Community College Sharks Open and then will face Wagner College in a three-Match Dual on February 12.
