ECC Women's Bowling Report - Week Five

Bowler of the Week
Jenna Stretch, Mercyhurst (Fr)
Stretch led the ECC in overall frame average last week after an All-Tournament showing at the Medaille Brunswick Invitational. Stretch finished in third place in traditional format with a 194.8 average which helped her average an overall frame average for the week was 19.39 

Rookie of the Week
Emily Kulkarni, Molloy (Fr - Lake Ronkonkoma, N.Y.)
Kulkarni bowled in the Seahawk Invite last weekend. The freshman averaged 201 in traditional play to finished third overall, including bowling a collegiate-high 244 in Molloy's win over Wilmington. For her performance, she was named to the All-Tournament Team.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Mykenzie Burnett, Roberts Wesleyan (Jr - Shortsville, N.Y.)
Leading the way at the Medaille Brunswick Invitational was junior Mykenzie Burnett, with games of 222 and 215. Burnett finished the day with a 975 total (195.0 average), the best amongst the entire tournament field, and secured the No. 1 spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Jenavieve Lyon, Bryant (Fr - Little Falls, N.Y.)
Finished eightth overall individually with a 935 (187 average), missing the all-tournament team by nine pins. Averaged 17.09 in Baker portion on Sunday. Helped her team with several conference wins including Daemen twice and D'Youville. Bowled 171 in a dual against Medaille on Friday.

Bryanna McKee, D'Youville (Fr - Niagara Falls, N.Y.)
McKee led the Saints at the Medaille invitational by making the All-Tournament Team with an average of 188.8. 

Caitlyn Nowak, Daemen (Sr - West Seneca, N.Y.)
Placed seventh among 67 bowlers with a 188.0 average during the five traditional round games at the Medaille Brunswick Invitational. Rolled a 214 to help Daemen to a 1,028-974 win over Walsh.

ECC Team Notes

Adelphi: The Adelphi University women's bowling team is now idle until the New Year, when the Panthers will compete at the Northeast Classic from Jan. 20-22 in Deptford, N.J.

Bryant: Bulldogs finished fifth overall in the Medaille Brunswick Invitational with a 6-4 record for the weekend. Amongst those wins are several conference teams, including Daemen twice and D? Youville. We also bowled a duel with Medaille University on Friday, with a strong 223 game from Abby Unson.

Daemen: Daemen (24-11) will conclude the 2022 portion of its 2022-23 schedule this Sunday (Nov. 13) when it travels to face ECC rival Roberts Wesleyan in a dual match. The Wildcats played in their final tournament of the Fall season this past weekend at the Medaille Brunswick Invitational. Daemen entered the second day of action in fifth place in the team standings, and the Wildcats remained in fifth place after posting wins over Chestnut Hill, Hilbert and Roberts Wesleyan to start day two. Daemen would end up in eighth place in the final standings after losing positional round matches to Bryant and Chestnut Hill. The Wildcats posted a tournament high score of 1,028 during a win over Walsh on Saturday and ended up posting a total pin fall of 8,632 over their 10 matches for a per game average of 172.6. Senior Caitlyn Nowak (West Seneca, N.Y) placed seventh among 67 bowlers with a 188.0 average during the five traditional round games on Saturday. Junior Mollie Gizicki (Brighton, Mich.) placed 11th (184.0), while senior Paige Bartosz (West Seneca, N.Y.) placed 18th (178.0). Head coach Carrie Racsumberger recorded her 150th career win during the weekend and has now posted a 153-123 career record in her five seasons at Daemen.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Redhawks placed third in the Medaille Invitational, hosted by Medaille University, on November 5-6 at Classic Lanes in Kenmore, N.Y.  Leading the way for opening day was junior Mykenzie Burnett, with games of 222 and 215. Burnett finished the day with a 975 total (195.0 average), the best amongst the entire tournament field, and secured the No. 1 spot on the All-Tournament Team. Amelia Ponto led the ladies on that last day, averaging 185.7 and filling 83.3% of her frames.

Saint Anselm: Saint Anselm will return to action on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the two-day Lady Eagles Invitational, hosted by Coppin State University, at the AMF Woodlawn Lanes in Baltimore, Md.
