ECC Women's Basketball Report - Week Seven

Player of the Week
Jennah DeGout, Queens (Fr, F - Bronx, N.Y.)
DeGout tallied her first career double-double with a career-high 21 points and 12 rebounds against Nyack. Off the bench, the Bronx native played 24 minutes shooting a searing 88.9 percent (8-of-9 FG). For the third time this season, DeGout tallied 12 rebounds or more in a game.

Chelsea Reeves, Queens (Fr, G - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
Reeves tallied a near triple-double with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and career-high seven assists against Nyack (Dec. 30). In 33 minutes of action, the Brooklyn native shot 57.1 percent (4-of-7 FG) from the field to go with one block.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Jenalyse Alarcon, Staten Island (Fr, F - Troy, N.Y.)
Alarcon scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds in Staten Island's loss to Pace. 

Ashley Lambert, Staten Island (So, G - Staten Island, N.Y.)

Lambert tallied 14 points, three rebounds, one assist, and one steal in the Dolphins' loss to Pace. She shot 45.5 percent from the field (5-for-11) and 57.1 percent from three point range (4-for-7).

ECC Team Notes

Bridgeport: The Purple Knights are scheduled to return to the court this Wednesday night when they host UDC. They are also slated to be in action at Staten Island on Saturday afternoon.

Daemen: Daemen remains at 5-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play. The Wildcats have been idle since a 76-59 win at Staten Island on Dec. 17. After their Dec. 19 game at UDC was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols, non-conference games vs. Le Moyne (Dec. 30) and Bentley (Jan. 2) suffered the same fate. The Wildcats are slated to return to action Saturday, Jan. 8 at D'Youville.

District of Columbia: After three straight postponements/cancellations, the Firebirds are slated to get back on the court as they visit Bridgeport on Wednesday and host Roberts Wesleyan on Saturday.

D'Youville: D'Youville hosts Daemen on January 8 in their first game since December 19.

Mercy: The Mercy College women's basketball team was idle this week. The Mavericks resume action on Wednesday, January 5th when they host Queens at 12 p.m.

Molloy: The Lions didn't play last week. Molloy returns to action Saturday, January 8 against Mercy.

Queens: Women's basketball will hit the road to start 2022 as they travel to Dobbs Ferry on Wednesday with a matchup against Mercy College Mavericks before hosting St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday afternoon.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Redhawks host Staten Island on Wednesday and visit District of Columbia on Saturday for their first action since December 19. 

Staten Island: TThe College of Staten Island Women's Basketball Team played their first game in almost two weeks against the Setters of Pace University on New Year's Eve. The Dolphins fell to the Setters 75-52 suffering their sixth straight loss.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Basketball team (2-9, 1-1 ECC) has been off since December 17 and will return to action on January 8 at Queens (1:00 p.m.).
