ECC Volleyball Report - Week Four

Player of the Week
 Giselle Giraud, Daemen (Senior, Outside Hitter - Orlando, Fla.)
 Giraud tallied double-digit kills in all three matches over Daemen's 3-0 weekend, totaling 46 kills (3.83 kills per set) for a .422 hitting percentage. The Daemen senior added 10 total digs and two blocks for 47.5 points. Giraud led the Wildcats in their thrilling five-set victory over Molloy with a career-high 24 kills (4.8 kills per set) with just five errors on 42 attacks for a team-high .452 hitting percentage. She helped Daemen start 2-0 in ECC play with road wins over Queens and Molloy.

Defensive Player of the Week
 Jasmine Brundage, Daemen (Senior, Libero - East Aurora, N.Y.)
 Brundage led the team defensively in all three matches over Daemen's 3-0 weekend, totaling 52 digs (4.22 digs per set). She posted her sixth 20-plus dig match in the Wildcats' 3-2 thriller over Molloy with 21 digs. Brundage totaled 41 receptions and added 15 assists, two aces, and two kills on the weekend.

Setter of the Week
 Dunja Masic, Daemen (Senior, Setter - McHenry, Ill.)
 Masic was the starting setter in two of Daemen's three matches over the Wildcats' 3-0 weekend, totaling 74 assists to average 9.25 assists per set. She added 19 total digs and posted her first double-double of the season on with 14 digs and a career-high 53 assists (10.6 assists per set), which included her 1,000th career assist, in Daemen's' 3-2 thriller over Molloy.

Rookie of the Week
Charlotte Koerber, Daemen (Freshman, Outside Hitter - Munich, Germany)
 Koerber totaled double-digit kills in all three matches over Daemen’s 3-0 weekend, leading the Wildcats offensively in two of the three, for a total of 50 kills to average 4.17 kills per set. Koerber posted two double-doubles, tallying 30 total digs on the weekend (2.5 digs per set), and finished with a .278 hitting percentage, seven aces, one solo block, and 58 total points, notching two 20-plus point performances. The rookie helped the Wildcats open up ECC play with a 2-0 record with road wins over Queens and Molloy. 

ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Marianne Gonzalez, Mercy (Senior, Setter - Manati, Puerto Rico)
 Gonzalez had a team-high 84 assists and 12.00 assists per set with 16 digs and four kills as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened the week with a match-high 37 assists with four digs and three kills at Adelphi and ended the week with a match-high 47 assists with 12 digs and one kill in the win at Roberts Wesleyan.

Celine Malosa, Roberts Wesleyan (Junior, Middle Hitter - Raleigh, N.C.)
 Malosa put up 12 blocks to go with 14 kills in the Redhawks' 1-1 week. The junior had six block assists and six kills in Roberts Wesleyan's 3-0 win over St. Thomas Aquinas and one solo block, five block assists, and eight kills against Mercy. 

Kiarra Roth - Molloy (Senior, Outside Hitter - Bohemia, N.Y.)
 Roth totaled 25 kills and 29 digs for the Lions as the senior had back-to-back double-doubles, putting up 11 kills and 11 digs against D'Youville before adding 14 kills and 18 digs against Daemen. On the week, Roth also tallied nine blocks, three assists, and two aces.

Larissa Schneid, Mercy (Senior, Outside Hitter - Sao Paulo, Brazil)
 Schneid had a team-high 31 kills and 4.43 kills per set with 24 digs as Mercy went 1-1 on the week. The senior opened the week with a double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs in the Mavericks' loss at Adelphi and ended the week with a match-high 21 kills with 14 digs in Mercy's win at Roberts Wesleyan.
