ECC Women's Lacrosse Report - Week Five

Offensive Player of the Week
Megan Rugolo, Molloy (So, M - Oceanside, N.Y.)
Rugolo had 13 points in a 2-0 week for Molloy. The sophomore scored four goals with two assists against Holy Family and three goals and four assists against St. Thomas Aquinas. On the week, the midfielder also added nine ground balls, three caused turnovers, and three draw controls.

Defensive Player of the Week
Madelyn Robinson, Roberts Wesleyan (Jr, D - Lancaster, N.Y.)
Robinson anchored the Redhawks' defense that allowed just nine goals in a 20-9 win over Franklin Pierce. She added three caused turnovers, two ground balls, and one draw control in the victory. 

Rookie of the Week
Ella Dossier, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, A - Webster, N.Y.)
Dossier helped the Redhawks to a 20-9 win over Franklin Pierce with a seven point outing. She tallied three goals and dished off four assists while adding one ground ball on the afternoon.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Ella Bouley, Daemen (Fr, F - Auburn, N.Y.)
Scored a team-high eight goals and totaled nine points in a 1-2 week. Scored eight times on just 12 shots on goal. Went 4-for-6 in free position shots. Scored three times in a 14-3 win over Alfred and a 17-10 loss to Findlay. Also totaled 15 draw controls, seven ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Jaclyn Grzelaczyk, Mercy (Gr, A - Seaford, N.Y.)
Grzelaczyk had a team-high eight points on four goals and four assists with three ground balls in two games for the Mavericks. The graduate student opened the week with two goals, three assists, and three ground balls in Mercy's 16-13 loss at No. 2 Florida Southern on Thursday. Grzelaczyk ended the week with two goals and an assist against No. 4 Tampa on Saturday.

Tori Lammes, Roberts Wesleyan (Gr, A - Hamlin, N.Y.)
Lammes helped the Redhawks to a 20-9 victory over Franklin Pierce with a six point performance on four goals and two assists. She also had three draw controls, two ground balls, and one caused turnover on the afternoon. 

Sam Newlin, D'Youville (Fr, M - Austin, Texas)
Newlin had 10 points with nine goals and an assist over two Saints' wins last week. Newlin's best performance was against Lake Erie, recording five goals. She also scored four goals and dished off an assist against the University of the District of Columbia that led to another win.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: Daemen (3-5, 0-0 ECC) went 1-2 last week, posting a 14-3 win at Alfred and suffering losses at Findlay (17-10) and Ashland (10-9). Graduate student Casey Decatur (Apollo Beach, Fla.) totaled 12 points (7 gls, 5 asts) over the three games and has registered a team-high 31 points (16 gls, 15 asts) on the year. Junior Dana Bacher (Hamburg, N.Y.) scored three times in the win over Alfred and has netted a team-high 17 goals. Freshman Ella Bouley (Auburn, N.Y.) scored a team-high eight goals over the three games last week and ranks third on the team in goals (15). Sophomore Camryn Day (Hamburg, N.Y.) leads the team in draw controls (46). Daemen plays two games this week. The Wildcats travel to Edinboro Thursday (3/23) and host Tiffin on Sunday (3/26).

Dist. Columbia: UDC went 0-2 on the week, falling to both Caldwell and D'Youville on the road. They will continue conference play next weekend as they travel to Molloy.

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Mercy: The No. 13/14 Mercy College women's lacrosse team went 0-2 on the week with losses to No. 2 Florida Southern and No. 4 Tampa. The Mavericks were led by sophomore Leena Moussa who had a team-high seven goals. Mercy resumes action on Saturday when they host Roberts Wesleyan at 11 a.m.

Molloy: Molloy won its fifth-straight game, topping Holy Family, 21-11, and Saint Thomas Aquinas, 23-2. This week the team is on the road at Jefferson (Mar. 22) before facing UDC at home on Saturday (Mar. 25).

Roberts Wesleyan: Roberts got a 20-9 win over Franklin Pierce last Friday. The 5-4 Redhawks will head to Mercy on Sat. March 25 for the first ECC game of the season.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Women's Lacrosse team (1-7, 0-1 ECC) dropped two contests last week, 18-2 to Assumption and 23-2 to Molloy. STAC returns to action against Post on March 20 (2 p.m.) and Roberts Wesleyan on March 26 (12 p.m.).
