ECC Men's Soccer Report - Week Three

	Offensive Player of the Week Tamas Nagy, Roberts Wesleyan (Senior - Forward, Czar, Hungary) Nagy scored a first-half hat trick in the Redhawks’ dominating 8-0 win over D’Youville. The 2023 ECC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year scored unassisted goals in the 11th and 40th minutes before taking a dish from Toby Balaam and hitting the back of the net in the 43rd minute. For the match, Nagy took five shots and landed three on goal in 66 minutes. In Roberts Wesleyan’s scoreless draw vs. District of Columbia, Nagy fired off two shots, landing both on goal, in 82 minutes of action.
	Defensive Player of the Week Juan Cruz Ladino, Queens (Junior - Goalkeeper, Cali, Colombia) Making a combined eight saves in two starts last week, Cruz Ladino helped the Knights go 2-0 as they defeated regionally-ranked #8 Southern Connecticut State and opened ECC play on a winning note with a 1-0 victory over Daemen. In Queens' 2-1 regional win over SCSU, Cruz made three saves before recording a career-best five saves in the 1-0 shutout over Daemen.
	Rookie of the Week Calle Olle Petter Gunnarsson, St. Thomas Aquinas (Freshman - Goalkeeper, Stockholm, Sweden) Gunnarsson allowed just one goal vs. nine saves in two matches against St. Michael's and Molloy last week to lead still-undefeated St. Thomas Aquinas to a pair of victories. Gunnarsson made five saves in a 3-1 win over St. Michael's and four saves in a 4-0 win over Molloy in ECC play as the Spartans remain a perfect 3-0-2 on the season.

ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Sergio Becerra, District of Columbia (Junior - Goalkeeper, Barakaldo, Vizcaya, Spain)
Becerra made a combined seven saves in two matches to lead the Firebirds to an undefeated week. The UDC junior made two saves in a 3-2 win over Dominican before making five saves in his ECC debut en route to a scoreless draw vs. Roberts Wesleyan.

Harry Cooke, Queens (Sophomore - Forward, Drayton, England)
Cooke recorded his first brace of the season as the Knights defeated regionally-ranked #8 Southern Connecticut State, 2-1. The Queens sophomore gave the Knights an early 1-0 lead before notching his first game-winning goal in the 76th minute.

Carlos Fernandes, Mercy (Senior - Forward, Lisbon, Portugal)
Fernandes scored a match-high two goals, including the match-winner, in Mercy's 3-0 win at D'Youville. The Mercy senior hit the back of the net twice early, in the 9th and 12th minutes, to set the early momentum for the Mavericks.

Myles Palmer, Roberts Wesleyan (Freshman - Forward, Fairport, N.Y.)
Palmer scored twice in the Redhawks' 8-0 win over D'Youville. Scored twice in 8-0 win over D’Youville. The Roberts Wesleyan rookie scored in the 40th and 74th minutes.
