BUFFALO - The D'Youville University men's soccer team hosted California (Pa.) University at Dobson Field on Wednesday, falling to the Vulcans by a score of 5-1.

The Saints (0-6, 0-2 ECC) first scoring opportunity of the game came in the 18th minute, when freshman Ethan Robinson (Toronto, Ontario) got off a shot that missed just right. In the 28th minute, Robinson saw another opportunity, putting a shot on goal that was turned away by the Vulcans' goalkeeper. In the 33rd minute, after finding themselves in a 2-0 hole, freshman Finn Savage (Wrexham, Wales) scored a penalty kick for the Saints to cut the deficit to 2-1. The Saints saw a few more scoring opportunities in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net. Freshman Jake Marks (London, England) played all 90 minutes in net for the Saints, making 11 saves.

DYU is back in action on Saturday, September 23rd, when they host Seton Hill University at 2:00 p.m.
