ECC Indoor Track & Field Report - Week Three

Men's Track Athlete of the Week
John Fitzsimmons, Molloy (Sr - Oceanside, N.Y.)
Fitzsimmons crossed the finish line in 2:02.32 to come in 15th place in the 800m at the Wagner Invitational. His time was good for first in the ECC so far this season. 

Men's Field Athlete of the Week
Robert Skidmore, Queens (So - East Islip, N.Y.)
Skidmore finished in 11th place in the shot put at the West Point Open with a toss of 12.12m. His throw was the third-best in the ECC this season. 

Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Meaghan O'Callaghan, Molloy (Jr - Massapequa, N.Y.)
O'Callaghan came in fifth place in the 800m at the Wagner Invitational. She crossed the finish line in a time of 2:30.57, good for the ECC's best mark in the event so far this season.

Women's Field Athlete of the Week
Faith Rousseau, Molloy (Fr - Seymour, Conn.)
Rousseau came in ninth place in the high jump (1.45m) and 19th place in the long jump (4.57m) at the Wagner Invitational. Both marks now rank third in the ECC this season.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Men
Njehan Phillip, Queens (Gr - Brooklyn, N.Y.)
In the men's mile run, graduate student Njehan Phillip (Brooklyn, N.Y.) finished in sixth place with a time of 4:48.65 besting his time from the Crowell Open of 4:54.46.

Women
Fatima Morrobei, Queens (Fr - Long Beach, N.Y.) 
Morrobei placed sixth in the 800m (2:35.42) and eighth in the 500m (1:27.24) at the West Point Open. Her 800m time was third-best in the ECC so far this season.

Megan Sohl, Molloy (Fr - East Meadow, N.Y.)
Sohl finished just 0.3 seconds behind teammate Meghan O'Callaghan for sixth place in the 800m (2:30.87) at the Wagner Invitational. She ranks second in the ECC in the event this season.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: Daemen has been idle since competing December 3 at the Houghton Indoor Meet. The Wildcats are scheduled for a return to action January 22 at another Houghton-hosted meet, the Highlander Invitational.

District of Columbia: After a break over the holidays, the Firebirds will be back in action on January 15th to compete at the HBCU Showcase which will be held at the Armory in Manhattan N.Y.

Georgian Court:  After over a month off, Georgian Court is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, January 15 when the Lions compete in the TCNJ Indoor Invitational (hosted by the NYC Armory).

Holy Family: Holy Family's track & field teams will end a month-long hiatus when they return to action on Friday, January 14 at the Spartan Invitational hosted by St. Thomas Aquinas at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, N.Y.

Molloy: No team notes submitted.

Post: Post was idle last week.

Queens: The Knights return to action on Friday (Jan. 14) as they travel to Staten Island, N.Y. to take part in the 2022 Spartan Invite hosted by fellow East Coast Conference member St. Thomas Aquinas College. First event is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. start time.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts track and field team did not compete last week.

Staten Island: No team notes submitted.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's and Women's Track & Field teams have been off since Dec. 10 and will return to action, hosting its annual Spartan Invitational on Jan. 14 at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Staten Island.
