ECC Cross Country Report - Week Three

Men's Runner of the Week
Andrew Drescher, St. Thomas Aquinas (Sr - Duanesburg, N.Y.)
Drescher continued to excel on the race course with a first place finish in the Bard College Fred Pavlich Invitational, recording a time of 19:22.5. Drescher's finish helped to lead STAC to a team victory and set a new course record.

Men's Rookie of the Week
Aidan Kincaid, Daemen (Fr - Orchard Park, N.Y.)
Daemen freshman Aidan Kincaid ran in just his second collegiate race at the Equality Invitational on Sunday, coming in 14th overall and fifth on the team. Kincaid shaved 42 seconds off his collegiate debut for a personal best 29:01.0 over the 8K race on Sunday.
 

Women's Runner of the Week
Marcy Colca, Daemen (So - Getzville, N.Y.)
For the third straight meet, Daemen sophomore Marcy Colca finished first overall. Running her first collegiate 8K in the Equality Invitational on Sunday, Marcy led the field of 29 runners, posting a first-place finish time of 31:09.8, 30 seconds faster than the second place finisher. No Daemen runner has finished first for three consecutive meets, marking a program record in the Division II era. She also led the Wildcats to a program-record three consecutive first place finishes. 

Women's Rookie of the Week
Patsy Oberholzer, Daemen (Fr - Greece, N.Y.)
Running her first 8K of her career on Sunday, Daemen freshman Patsy Oberholzer finished fifth out of 29 runners, and fourth on the team, with a time of 32:54.3 to help lead Daemen to their third consecutive first place team victory at the Equality Invitational on Sunday. 


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Men
Zachary Hall, Roberts Wesleyan (So, Oakfield, N.Y.)
Hall was the Redhawks' top finisher at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, coming in 17th place in a time of 26:06.2.

Jon Moote, Daemen (Jr - Wilson, N.Y.)

Daemen junior Jon Moote crossed the finish line first overall for just the second time in his career on Sunday in the Equality Invitational, posting a personal best time of 26:41.6, shaving off 22.2 seconds from his previous personal best. His time lands him eighth overall in the Daemen record book of 8K times.

Women
Acacia Barber, Roberts Wesleyan (So, Frewsburg, N.Y.)
Barber was the Redhawks' top finisher at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, coming in 14th place in a time of 26:06.2.

Rachel Horner-Richardson, Roberts Wesleyan (Fr, Cornish, N.H.)
Horner-Richardson was the top rookie runner for the Redhawks at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational, coming in 19th place in a time of 19:02.9.

Skylar Moreno, St. Thomas Aquinas (Gr - Congers, N.Y.)
Moreno continued to excel on the race course with a first place finish in the Bard College Fred Pavlich Invitational, recording a time of 20:51.1. Moreno's finish helped to lead STAC to a team victory and set a new course record.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: The Daemen University women's cross country team is coming off of three consecutive first place team finishes, including a first place finish at the Equality Invitational on Sunday which was thought to be the first collegiate cross country meet where the men and women both ran the same 8K distance. The Daemen men's cross country team has posted three straight second-place finishes. Both teams have this upcoming weekend off, but return to action on October 8 when they travel to Houghton, NY to participate in the Highlander Invitational.

District of Columbia: UDC Women's Cross Country was idle last week but will compete this weekend in the Salisbury Cross Country Invite.

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Molloy: Molloy was idle this week. The Lions will return to action on Friday (Sept. 30) at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.

Queens: The women's side earned a first place among D2 teams in the MSCM Invite. Queens returns to action on Sunday as they compete in the QCC Invitational.

Roberts Wesleyan: The Roberts Wesleyan cross country teams ran their first full races of the season at the Harry F. Anderson Invitational. The women's team placed second overall and the men took third place. The Redhawks will travel to Louisville on Saturday for the Live in Lou Classic.

Staten Island: No team notes submitted.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Cross Country team took victories in both the men's and women's races at the Bard College Fred Pavlich Invitational. Andrew Drescher and Skylar Moreno also finished atop the race standings for the Spartans. STAC returns to action on September 30 at the St. Joseph's University Golden Eagle Invitational, before hosting their annual alumni run on October 1.
