ECC Cross Country Report - Week Two

	Men's Runner of the Week Andrew Drescher, St. Thomas Aquinas (Sr - Duanesburg, N.Y.) Drescher opened the season with a first place finish in the SUNY Purchase College Invitational, recording a time of 27:56.3. Drescher's finish helped to lead STAC to a team victory.
	Men's Rookie of the Week Aidan Kincaid, Daemen (Fr - Orchard Park, N.Y.) Kincaid made his collegiate debut on Saturday in the Daemen Alumni Invitational, placing 11th overall with a time of 29:43.2 and fourth on the team. He helped lead Daemen to a second place team finish for the second straight meet (the Wildcats placed second out of seven teams at the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational).
	Women's Runner of the Week Marcy Colca, Daemen (So - Getzville, N.Y.) Daemen sophomore Marcy Colca earned her first 5K first-place finish, leading the field of 70 runners with a personal-best time of 18:40.8 at the Daemen Alumni Invitational. Colca helped the Wildcats to their second consecutive team victory. The win was Colca's second-straight first place finish after she topped the pack at the Frank Dillon Memorial Invitational last weekend.
	Women's Rookie of the Week Patsy Oberholzer, Daemen (Fr - Greece, N.Y.) Daemen freshman Patsy Oberholzer ran her first 5K of her collegiate career on Saturday in the Daemen Alumni Invitational, coming in sixth in the field of 70 runners with a time of 19:40.2 to finish fourth on the team.

Jon Moote, Daemen (Jr - Wilson, N.Y.)
Daemen junior Jon Moote notched his third career top-10 finish, finishing third out of the field of 65 runners in the Daemen Alumni Invitational on Saturday. His 27:17.8 marks his third-fastest 8K time in his collegiate career.

Henry Smith, D'Youville (So - Lockport, N.Y.)
Smith paced the Saints at their first meet of the season, placing seventh overall at 28:36.0. His time was nearly a two-minute improvement from last year's performance at the same race.

Women
Skylar Moreno, St. Thomas Aquinas (Gr - Congers, N.Y.)
Moreno opened the season with a first place finish in the SUNY Purchase College Invitational, recording a time of 19:26.6. Moreno's finish helped to lead STAC to a team victory.

Lainie Smith, D'Youville University (Fr - Lancaster, N.Y.)
Smith paced the Saints at the Daemen Duals with a personal record of 20:49.7. Her time was good enough for a 14th-place finish.

ECC Team Notes

	Daemen: The Daemen women's cross country team is coming off their second consecutive first-place team finish, while the men are also coming off their second consecutive second-place team finish at the Daemen Alumni Invitational. The Wildcats are off this upcoming weekend but will resume the season at the Equality Invitational on Sunday, Sept. 25 in Colchester V.T. hosted by St. Michael's. The men and women will all race the same distance -- 8K -- in the Equality Invitational.
	District of Columbia: The Firebirds were idle last week but will be back in action next Saturday as they head to Delaware to compete at Goldey-Beacom.
	D'Youville: No team notes submitted.
	Molloy: Molloy was idle this week. They will run at the Kutztown DII/DIII Challenge on Friday (Sept. 16).
	Queens: The Knights are off until Sept. 25 when they compete in the MSMC Invite.
	Roberts Wesleyan: Did not compete
	Staten Island: No team notes submitted.
	St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Cross Country team opened its 2022 season, winning both the men's and women's races at the SUNY Purchase Invitational. Andrew Drescher and Skylar Moreno also finished atop the race standings for the Spartans. STAC returns to action on September 17 at the Manhattan College Jasper Fall XC Invite.
