Lilburn, Ga. – The University of the
District of Columbia women’s basketball team is in the USA
Today/ESPN Division II national poll for the second consecutive
week, coming in at No. 25.
Despite a 1-1 mark last week, the Firebirds remained in the poll,
falling two spots to the No. 25 position. Prior to falling to
Dowling College on Saturday, February 11, UDC had won eight
straight games. Currently, the Firebirds hold an 18-4 record, with
a 9-3 mark in conference play to sit second in the standings.
Dowling, who moved to 17-5 on the year and into sole possession of
first place in the ECC with the victory over UDC, was also in the
poll in the others receiving votes category.
