Indianapolis - After taking home the ECC
Volleyball Championship on Saturday, the Dowling College volleyball
team was named the top seed in the East Region in the upcoming NCAA
Division II Volleyball Tournament. As the top seed, the Golden
Lions will host the event that features eight teams from the East
Region.
Dowling, currently 27-1 on the year, will look to clinch their
fifth East Region title in six years when they open up the
tournament against the No. 8 seed Caldwell (24-7) on Thursday,
November 18.
Two other ECC members, Bridgeport and C.W. Post, earned at-large
berths into the NCAA Tournament field. Bridgeport comes in as the
No. 3 seed with a record of 23-4 and will take on No. 6 seed
American International College. C.W. Post is the No. 5 seed and
will play the No. 4 seed Adelphi University.
All games will be at Dowling Gymnasium in Oakdale, N.Y. Play begins
on November 18 and will run until the championship game on November
20.
