Indianapolis, Ind. - Six East Coast Conference
standouts have been named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II
Women's Soccer All-America team.
ECC Defensive Player and Rookie of the Year, Tabea Rauschenberger
of Bridgeport is the highest honored student-athlete from the
conference, earning a spot on the Second Team.
Rauschenberger anchored the back line for the Purple Knights squad
that led the conference in goals against average. She also
contributed with five goals and seven assists on the season.
The Third Team featured three from the ECC. ECC Goalkeeper
of the Year, Julian Hansson of Bridgeport, ECC Offensive Player of
the Year, Susanne Vistnes or LIU Post, and Abby Zielinski of Mercy
all earned Third Team status. Hansson and Vistnes led the
conference in shutouts and goals respectively. Zielinski helped the
Mavericks to their first ever appearance in the ECC Championship
Game and the NCAA Tournament with one goal and one assist on the
season.
Bridgeport's Danielle Puddefoot and LIU Post's Jeanine Ambrogi
also were included in the Honorable Mention list.
