ECC Announces Women's Lacrosse Championship Bracket

ECC Announces Women's Lacrosse Championship Bracket

West Babylon, N.Y. – With regular season play now complete, the bracket for the East Coast Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship is set. The same four teams that advanced to the 2022 version – Mercy, Roberts Wesleyan, Molloy, and D’Youville – once again have qualified for the tournament.

Semifinal action gets underway on Thursday, May 4 on the campus sites of the higher seeds. The championship game of the tournament will be hosted on Sunday, May 7 by the highest remaining seed at a time to be determined.

Mercy (11-6), Molloy (12-4), and Roberts Wesleyan (11-5) all finished with a 5-1 conference record to earn a share of the ECC Regular Season Championship. This is the fourth straight season Mercy has earned at least a share of the title, while both Molloy and Roberts Wesleyan earn the distinction for the first time in program history.

For seeding purposes, conference tiebreakers led to Mercy earning the No. 1 seed, followed by Roberts Wesleyan at No. 2 and Molloy at No. 3.

Mercy, the defending ECC Champions, will take on No. 4 D’Youville (8-9, 3-3 ECC) in the semifinals for the second season in a row. The Mavericks won the regular season meeting between the two schools this season by a margin of 18-5.

The other semifinal will see Roberts Wesleyan and Molloy meet in the conference tournament for a fifth straight season. Molloy won the first two meetings but the Redhawks have taken the postseason matchup in each of the past two years.

Roberts Wesleyan earned a victory in this year’s regular season meeting against the Lions, as well, winning 13-12 in a triple overtime thriller.

All games during the championship will be broadcast live on the ECC Network website and the ECC Network app on Apple and Android mobile devices and on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku streaming devices.
