Bell, Weber, Brady, Garvalosa, and Shimborske Lead Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Selections

West Babylon, N.Y. - Roberts Wesleyan's Madison Bell (Webster, N.Y.),  Molloy’s Amanda Weber (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Mercy trio Micayla Brady (Massapequa Park, N.Y.), Madeline Garvalosa (Seaford, N.Y.),  and Lindsey Shimborske (Farmingdale, N.Y.) were the top award winners in the East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference honors that were announced on Friday afternoon.

Bell is the ECC Attacker of the Year after leading the ECC and all of Division II with 6.85 points per game on the season. She also finished first in the ECC with 57 goals and 89 points, while ranking second with 32 assists. In addition, Bell ranked seventh in the country with 4.38 goals per game and 12th with 2.46 assists per game.

Weber earns a top honor for the second straight year, this time taking the Midfielder of the Year award after being named the Rookie of the Year a season ago. Weber ranked in the top five in the ECC with 50 goals and added 12 assists for 62 points on the season. She also finished in the top five in the ECC with 64 draw controls.

Brady repeats as the league’s Defender of the Year after helping the Mavericks allow just 8.44 goals per game, good for 11th best in Division II. Despite missing six games due to an injury, Brady still ranks in the top-five in the ECC with 28 caused turnovers on the season. Brady also contributed 24 ground balls on the season.

Garvalosa takes the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year honor after finishing with the best goals against average (8.63) and save percentage (.536) in the ECC. Those numbers are among the best in the country as well. Her goals against average ranks sixth in Division II while her save percentage ranks second.

Like Garvalosa and Brady, Shimborske played a key role in the Mavericks' stingy defense. The three-time ECC Rookie of the Week ranked among the league leaders with 33 ground balls, 59 draw controls, and 30 caused turnovers.

Mercy head coach, Dawn Sachs, rounds out the major awards with the second straight ECC Coach of the Year award and fourth overall of her career. Sachs led the Mavericks to a 12-4 record, which included a perfect 6-0 mark in ECC play to claim the league’s regular season championship.
