Brinkel, Tomei, Brady, Jacobsen, and Weber Lead Women's Lacrosse All-Conference Selections

West Babylon, N.Y. - Roberts Wesleyan's Lindsey Brinkel (Rochester, N.Y.) and Emily Tomei (Webster, N.Y.), Mercy's Micayla Brady (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Emma Jacobsen (Miller Place, N.Y.), and Amanda Weber (Massapequa, N.Y.) of Molloy each earned top honors in the East Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse All-Conference awards that were announced on Friday afternoon.

Brinkel is the ECC Attacker of the Year after helping Roberts Wesleyan to the best season in program history. The senior was an offensive force in helping the Redhawks rank fourth in Division II with 17.92 goals per game. She led the ECC with 74 points and 46 assists while ranking just outside the league's top-five in goals with 28 during the regular season. Her totals also put her towards the top of the Division II leader board. Brinkel is tops in the country with an average of 3.83 assists per game and ranks among the nation's top-10 in assists (fifth), points (seventh), and 6.17 points per game (fifth).

Tomei was another integral part of the Redhawks' offense, as her scoring exploits helped her land the league's Midfielder of the Year honor. This is the second major award of her career after she earned the ECC Rookie of the Year accolade in 2018. Tomei found the back of the cage an ECC-leading 38 times on the season. She ranked third in the league with 52 points, as well. In addition, Tomei was one of the conference's best in grabbing draw controls, finishing third with 53.

While Roberts Wesleyan featured one of the nation's best offenses, the ECC was also home to one of Division II's top defenses in Mercy, evident by Brady and Jacobsen earning the league's top defensive honors.

Brady earns the Defender of the Year award after helping the Mavericks allow a stingy 5.67 goals per game, good for third in Division II. Individually, Brady topped the ECC with 39 caused turnovers and 46 ground balls, at least 10 more than the conference's runner-up in both categories. Brady's mark of 3.25 caused turnovers per game was also good for third nationally.

Jacobsen is the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year after finishing with a perfect 11-0 record and leading the league with a .552 save percentage. She also paced the ECC with a 5.50 goals against average.

Weber, a sophomore with extended rookie eligibility after the 2020 season was cut short due to COVID-19, was named the ECC Rookie of the Year. Offensively, Weber tallied 26 points on 21 goals and five assists. Additionally, Weber ranked in the league's top-10 with 41 draw controls on the season.

Mercy head coach, Dawn Sachs, rounds out the major awards with the third ECC Coach of the Year of her career. Sachs helped guide the Mavericks to a perfect 5-0 record in ECC play to earn the conference's Regular Season Championship.
