Grand Lake, Colo. – Six East Coast
Conference women’s lacrosse student-athletes, including five
from top-ranked LIU Post, have earned All-American status from the
Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association. The
same six, plus six more from the ECC also earned All-Region
accolades as well.
LIU Post leads all schools with five selections to the All-America
team and ties Rollins with three First Team selections. The
Pioneers’ First Teamers are senior attacker Ashley Olen,
junior midfielder Katie Rotan, and junior attacked Jackie
Sileo.
Olen leads the Pioneers and the ECC with 85 goals on the season to
date. Her goal total on the year is currently tied for the
seventh highest single-season mark in NCAA history. She has also
dished out 21 assists to total 106 points on the season.
Rotan has started every game on the season for LIU Post, scoring 38
goals and adding 14 assists for 52 points. She has also
contributed with 33 ground balls, 46 draw controls, and 18 caused
turnovers from the midfield position.
The two-time ECC Player of the Year, Jackie Sileo, is the final
First Team member for the Pioneers. Onky a junior, Sileo has
already become the NCAA Division II all-time leading scorer on the
heels of a 170 point season in 2013. Sileo has scored 55 goals and
dished off an eye-popping total of 115 assists on the season.
Second Team All-American selections from the ECC include, Dominique
Mosca (Sr., GK, LIU Post), Melissa Rohr (Jr., D, LIU Post), and
Samantha Stavish (Jr., M, Dowling). Mosca and Stavish were honored
by the ECC as the Goalkeeper and Defensive Player of the Year,
respectively, while Rohr was also an ECC All-Conference First Team
selection.
All six All-Americans were also All-Region First Team selections.
Joining them on the All-Region squad as Second Team selections were
Jackie Andersen (So., A, Dowling), Sarah Boucher (Sr., M, Queens),
Danielle Clesi (Sr., D, Molloy), Tina Fey (Sr., GK, Dowling),
Kaitlynn Kelly (Sr., M, Molloy), and Nicole Moran (Sr., A,
Dowling).
