Bryant Joins ECC as Women's Bowling Associate Member

West Babylon, N.Y. – The largest women’s bowling conference in the NCAA continues to grow, as the East Coast Conference announced Bryant University as its 15th member on Wednesday afternoon.

Located in Smithfield, Rhode Island, Bryant becomes the second addition to the conference for the 2022-23 season, joining Saint Anselm College, whose acceptance was announced in December. The Bulldogs, who will be competing in their inaugural campaign during the upcoming season, will be immediately eligible to compete in the ECC Women's Bowling Championship and earn the league's automatic qualification into the NCAA Championship.

"The East Coast Conference is very excited to announce Bryant University as our newest associate member for women's bowling,” said ECC Commissioner, Dr. Robert Dranoff. “As the largest bowling conference in the NCAA, we are proud that over the years we have been able to provide a home for many institution's women's bowling programs and to help those programs grow and compete. Welcome to the ECC, Bryant University."

“We are honored and thankful to the East Coast Conference for welcoming Bryant University as an associate member in the sport of women’s bowling,” said Bryant’s Director of Athletics, Bill Smith. “We are excited about our inaugural season of women’s bowling in 2022-23 and for our program to have a future home in the East Coast Conference.”

Bulldogs head coach, Morgan Walsh, added, “We are excited and honored to be a member of the ECC for our inaugural season,” Walsh said. “It is a highly competitive conference with a great lineup of teams. We look forward to competing for a championship!”

The ECC’s roster of women’s bowling associate members now stands at 10 with Bryant joining the aforementioned Saint Anselm in addition to Adelphi University, Bloomfield College, Caldwell University, Chestnut Hill College, Felician University, Kutztown University, Mercyhurst University, and Wilmington University.

Five full-time members of the ECC - Daemen University, D’Youville University, Molloy University, Roberts Wesleyan College, and St. Thomas Aquinas College - currently sponsor women's bowling.
