Strebel and Fraticelli Headline ECC Women’s Bowling All-Conference Selections

West Babylon, N.Y. – Mercyhurst junior Samantha Strebel (Harrisville, Utah) and Adelphi sophomore Blanca Fraticelli (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) headlined the East Coast Conference Women’s Bowling All-Conference selections announced on Friday. Strebel was picked as the league’s Bowler of the Year, while Fraticelli claimed the Rookie of the Year honor.

Strebel, now a two-time ECC All-Conference honoree, earns the conference’s top honor after ranking among the ECC's leaders in numerous statistical categories. She ranked in the top-five in the league in nearly every statistical category and led the league in 12. Among her marks that topped the loop were her 19.76 overall frame average, 84.1 fill percentage, 47.1 strike percentage, and 70.0 spare conversion percentage. Strebel, a three-time ECC Bowler of the Week, also leads the conference in the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) Player Composite Performance Index at 98.13 percent, nearly six percentage points higher than the runner-up.

Fraticelli was selected as the ECC’s top newcomer after leading all rookies with an 18.73 overall frame average. The four-time ECC Rookie of the Week also ranked sixth in the league in both traditional frame average (19.26) and spare conversion percentage (67.2).

The Coach of the Year honor was shared by Mercyhurst’s Michael Machuga and Caldwell’s Ken Yokobosky. Machuga led the Lakers to the most wins of any ECC team this year with a 62-38 record, while under Yokobosky’s guidance, the Cougars posted the top winning percentage among any ECC squad with a mark of .631 (53-31 record).
