Starkville, Miss. - For the first time this
season, the Molloy College softball team was listed in the National
Fastpitch Coaches Association’s Division II national rankings
released on April 25. The Lions grabbed the last spot in the poll
at No. 25.
Molloy had received votes in five of the 10 previous polls this
season, but this week marks the first poll that they have been able
to reach the 25th spot. The Lions boasted a 25-3 conference
record to capture the East Coast Conference regular season title
and the right to host the upcoming ECC Softball Championship.
Molloy also holds a 39-10 overall record.
This marks the first time since the C.W. Post Pioneers were ranked
No. 16 in the Week Three poll, that an ECC squad has been included
in the rankings.
