Molloy’s Frey Named Daktronics First Team All-American; Six Others Honored

Rolla, Mo. - Jeana Frey of Molloy College was selected as a Daktronics First Team All-American as voted on by Sports Information Directors across the country. Six other East Coast Conference softball student-athletes earned All-American nods on the Second, Third, and Honorable Mention teams.

Frey, an ECC All-Conference First Team selection, led the conference with a .477 batting average on the season. She also paced the ECC with 95 hits while adding 16 RBI, 14 stolen bases, and a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in the outfield for the Lions.

Nicole Hagenah of C.W. Post picks up her second All-America selection on the Second Team after being named an NFCA First Team All-American. Joining Hagenah on the Second Team is Emily Slack, a catcher from Dowling.

Slack’s teammate and two-time ECC Pitcher of the Year, Jessie Stavola, was named to the Third Team. Stavola finished the year with an 18-4 record to go along with a 1.10 ERA and 309 strikeouts. She also leads all of Division II in strikeouts per seven innings with 15.5. Joining Stavola on the Third Team was second baseman from C.W. Post, Kendall Bright.

Designated Player from Dowling, Stephanie Tarango, and utility from Molloy, Megan Butterworth, earned Honorable Mention selections.
