Central Islip, N.Y. - The Queens College men's tennis team has been ranked second in the East Region and 38th in the nation by the governing body of collegiate tennis, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Dowling, the only other ECC team to earn an East Region ranking, claims the No. 7 spot on the poll.
The Knights have four players ranked in singles in the East Region. Patryk Polus was ranked seventh, Fabio Minami was ninth, Jesse Smith was ranked twelfth and Dave Burstein was ranked fourteenth. In doubles, Polus and partner Danilo Hiraoka were ranked seventh while the Smith/Burstein duo claimed the No. 9 spot.
Dowling placed two on the Top 15 singles chart, with Viktor Kim ranked eleventh and Saulo Gonzales ranked thirteenth. The two teamed up to capture a No. 5 East Region Doubles ranking.
