Mercy and Queens Headed to NCAA Men's Soccer Championship

Indianapolis - Mercy and Queens will represent the East Coast Conference in the NCAA Division II Men’s Soccer Championship as the bracket was unveiled on Monday evening.

The Mavericks (12-2-5) earned their way into the tournament by winning the East Coast Conference Championship and the league's automatic berth. This marks the fifth bid in program history and the third in the last four seasons.

Mercy earns the No. 4 seed in the Super Region 1 bracket and will host No. 5 Davis & Elkins (15-2-1) of the Mountain East Conference in a second round contest on Saturday, November 12. Both schools earned a first round bye after finishing among the region's top-six seeds.

This will be the first-ever meeting between the two schools.

Queens receives an at-large bid for the first NCAA Championship appearance in program history. The Knights (13-6-0) earned the No. 7 seed and will take on No. 10 Adelphi (8-4-6) in the first round.

This is the second-ever matchup between the two schools, with Adelphi taking the previous meeting in 2015 by a score of 3-0.

The match will be played in Charleston, West Virginia on the campus of No. 2 Charleston (18-1-0). The winner will advance to take on the Golden Eagles, who have advanced to the National Championship match in each of the past two seasons.

Other teams that will compete in the Super Region 1 bracket include No. 1 Franklin Pierce (20-0-1), No. 3 Mercyhurst (19-0-1), No. 6 Post (15-3-2), No. 8 Notre Dame – Ohio (15-4-2) and No. 9 Saint Rose (9-4-4).
