Mercy Earns Fourth Straight NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship Berth

Indianapolis – For the fourth straight season, the Mercy men’s lacrosse team will compete for a National Championship after being selected as one of 12 teams that will compete in the NCAA Division II Championship.

The Mavericks (14-3), who were national runner-up in 2022, earned their bid after winning a fourth straight ECC Championship on Saturday. Mercy was awarded the No. 3 seed in the North Region and a First Round date with No. 6 Saint Anselm (9-4).

This will be the first meeting between the schools since 2017. Mercy has won all five of the previous matchups, with four ending with a margin of just one goal.

The winner of the Mercy vs. Saint Anselm matchup will advance to the national quarterfinals against No. 2 Mercyhurst (14-2) on Sunday, May 14.

The other half of the six-team regional bracket sees No. 1 Le Moyne (16-0) awaiting the winner of No. 4 Bentley (10-5) and No. 5 Adelphi (15-3).

Mercy has played the other four teams in the North Region bracket already this season, finishing with a win against Bentley and losses to Le Moyne, Mercyhurst, and Adelphi.

Teams in the South Region bracket are No. 1 Rollins (15-1), No. 2 Limestone (15-4), No. 3 Wingate (12-2), No. 4 Tampa (13-3), No. 5 Lenoir-Rhyne (14-3), and No. 6 Indianapolis (11-3).
