West Babylon, N.Y. – For the second straight season, Frostburg St., Mercy, Molloy, and Roberts Wesleyan have qualified for the East Coast Conference Men’s Lacrosse Championship.
The tournament gets underway on Wednesday, May 3 with the semifinal matchups on the campus sites of the higher seeds. The championship game of the tournament will be hosted by the highest remaining seed on Saturday, May 6 at a time to be determined.
After earning a fourth straight ECC Regular Season Championship, Mercy (12-3, 6-0 ECC) will be the tournament’s top seed. The Mavericks have now won 27 straight games against ECC competition, with their last loss coming in the 2018 ECC Championship.
Mercy’s semifinal opponent will be No. 4 Molloy (9-8, 4-2 ECC), who is in the bracket for the third straight year and fourth time in five seasons.
The other semifinal will see No. 2 Frostburg St. (12-4, 4-2 ECC) hosting No. 3 Roberts Wesleyan (9-4, 4-2 ECC). The Bobcats will host a semifinal for the second straight year. The Redhawks are making their fourth straight appearance in the championship.
Both semifinal contests will be the second game in a row each team sees the same opponent after also matching up in their regular season finales. Mercy topped Molloy 24-10 on April 27, while Frostburg St. held off a late Roberts Wesleyan rally to win 18-16 on April 29.
All games during the championship will be broadcast live on the ECC Network website and the ECC Network app on Apple and Android mobile devices and on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, and Roku streaming devices.
