Perry, N.Y. - Four East Coast Conference men's
lacrosse teams will begin the 2015 campaign ranked in the United
States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Division II poll.
LIU Post is the first ECC squad listed, coming in at No. 3 after
posting an 11-6 record last season. In 2014, the Pioneers were
champions of the first-ever ECC Tournament and advanced all the way
to the Division II National Championship game. LIU Post fell in the
title game to Limestone, who begins the season in the top spot in
the USILA poll.
Next up at No. 6 is NYIT. The Bears finished with a 12-4 record
and were the ECC Co-Regular Season Champions with Dowling. Dowling
also is ranked in the poll in the No. 12 spot after a 2014 season
in which they finished 12-5 and earned a NCAA Tournament berth.
Wrapping up the ECC representation in the poll is Molloy. The
Lions begin the season ranked No. 14 after finishing with an 8-6
mark a year ago.
Two other ECC schools received votes in the poll as well. Mercy
and 2014 ECC Championship participant, Chestnut Hill, were listed
in the Also Receiving Votes portion of the poll.
