Brookville, N.Y. - On Apr. 5, the LIU Post
men's lacrosse team, in conjunction with its 11 a.m. contest versus
Dominican, is slated to host a "Team Connor" fundraiser. The event
will honor Connor Bradley, on behalf of The Cancer Center for Kids
at Winthrop University Hospital.
Connor, the son of Sean and Beth Bradley, was diagnosed with
leukemia in February 2013, and is currently undergoing treatment at
The Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital. He
continues to make progress, and despite all of the procedures and
hard times, Connor continues to smile and laugh.
Parents, Sean and Beth, brother, C.J., and sister, Kalie, will be
in attendance at the game, where Connor will serve as LIU Post's
honorary captain for the afternoon.
In lieu of admission, the team and game-day staff will ask for
donations at the gate. Monetary offerings are accepted, as well as
donations of kid-friendly Band-Aid's and lollipops. There will also
be a 50/50 raffle, in addition to other drawings. A private donor
will be donating $100 for every Pioneer goal scored, up to a
maximum of $3,000.
Last year, through the generosity and overwhelming support of the
LIU Post athletic staff, our team members' families and friends, a
total of $8,200 was raised. All proceeds will directly benefit The
Cancer Center for Kids at Winthrop University Hospital.
Come out and join us at the game to support the team, and help
surpass last season's total!
