Perry, N.Y. – Six East Coast Conference
members, including the defending National Champion Mercyhurst
College Lakers, were ranked in the United States Intercollegiate
Lacrosse Association preseason national poll.
Mercyhurst, who took home the first National Championship in
program history last year, begin the 2012 season as the top ranked
squad in the nation. The Lakers were a unanimous choice in the
first spot, receiving all nine first place votes.
C.W. Post, last season’s ECC Champions, is the next ranked
ECC member, coming in at No. 4. Dowling (No. 5), NYIT (No. 7),
Mercy (No. 9), and Seton Hill (No. 11), round out the ECC
representation in the poll.
