Kansas City, Mo. – Tobin Carberry of LIU
Post and Darian David of Bridgeport have been named to the National
Association of Basketball Coaches All-East District Second
Team.
Carberry, the ECC Player of the Year, earns another postseason
honor by being named to the NABC All-District Second Team. He was a
prolific scorer this season, ranking in the top-five in the region
with an 18.6 points per game average. He scored in double digits in
every game on the season and poured in more than 20 on 14 different
occasions. Carberry also ranked in the top five in the ECC in field
goals made, three point field goals made, and three point
percentage. He also was a strong rebounder for a guard,
pulling down 5.8 boards per contest.
David was Bridgeport’s top scorer and ranked fourth in the
ECC with 17.0 points per game. He also led the ECC in three point
field goals made (70) and ranked in the top 10 in assists (87),
while helping lead the Purple Knights to the East Region
Championship Game.
Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA
Division II, the 89 student-athletes, from eight districts, are now
eligible for the NABC Coaches’ Division II All-America teams,
selected by the NABC.
