Frank Salerno, the 2012 East Coast Conference Baseball Player of
the Year, has been named an Honorable Mention All-American by the
National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Salerno, who helped lead the Spartans to a regular season ECC
title, led the conference in hits (72), runs (56), and stolen bases
(40), while also posting a .364 batting average which was good for
second in the conference.
Salerno was one of only five East Region student-athletes included
on any of the teams. This also marks Salerno’s second
honorable mention All-America selection, as he earned the same
honor from Daktronics.
