Molloy College junior pitcher, Chuck Fontana, has been named an
All-American by Daktronics and the National Collegiate Baseball
Writers Association. Fontana was selected to the Third Team by
Daktronics and was an Honorable Mention pick by the NCBWA.
The 2011 East Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year, Fontana went
9-1 on the mound for the Lions with a 1.69 ERA. He also led the ECC
in innings pitched, strikeouts, and strikeouts per nine innings as
well.
Fontana also ranked among the national leaders in strikeouts,
coming in at ninth in strikeouts per nine innings with 11.44 and
12th in overall strikeouts (108).
