Central Islip, N.Y. - Gabriel Duran (Brooklyn, NY) has
been named a Second Team All-American for both the National
Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and ABCA/Rawlings. This
marks the second straight year Duran has been named an All-American
by both publications.
The 2010 season saw Duran dominate hitters once again, as he
finished the year with a 5-3 record and a Division II leading 0.74
ERA.
Duran also became the Golden Lions all-time strikeout king, with 68
punchouts on the season to become the first player in program
history to top the 200 mark.
Among his many accomplishments this season, were two no-hitters.
The first came against Mercy in a 2-0 win where he struck out 10
batters, with the second against Bridgeport, this time striking out
