Central Islip, N.Y. - With the conclusion of regular season play, the fields are now set for the first-ever East Coast Conference Men's and Women's Lacrosse Championships.

Semifinals for the men will commence on Wednesday, April 30, followed by the women's semifinals on Thursday, May 1. Both sets of semifinals will be held on campus sites. The championship games of both tournaments will be held at LIU Post on May 3.

Tickets for all championship games will be $6 for adults and $2 for senior citizens, students with a valid college I.D., and for children 5-12. Children under the age of five will be admitted for free.

During the championship games at LIU Post, the ECC will also host a Make-A-Wish carnival run by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committees (SAAC) of ECC member institutions. Carnival games and interactive vendor booths will be available to entertain fans during the games. All proceeds from the carnival will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Despite tying with NYIT as Regular Season Co-Champions by finishing with a 7-1 ECC record, Dowling earns the top seed in the tournament due to a head-to-head victory over the Bears. The Golden Lions, who currently have an 11-3 overall record, will take on No. 4 seed Chestnut Hill in the first semifinal.

The Griffins, who are on a roll after winning four straight to close the regular season, qualified for the tournament with a 5-3 ECC (7-5 overall) record. Dowling leads the all-time series between the schools 3-2, including a 20-11 win on April 5 this season.

On the women's side, LIU Post earns the top seed. The two-time defending National Champion Pioneers wrapped up the regular season with an unblemished 16-0 (7-0 ECC) record to extend their winning streak to 39 games.
