Four ECC student-athletes from three different sports have been named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large teams.
On the men’s side there were three selections from the
ECC. Andre Pellegrino of Queens and Julian Marcon of NYIT, both
men’s tennis players, and Jason Smith, a men’s lacrosse
player also from NYIT, earned recognition for their academic
prowess.
Pellegrino, a sophomore Economics major with a 3.60 grade point
average, was also an All-Conference First Team member for the ECC
Champion, Queens College Knights. He posted an 18-4 mark in singles

team’s remarkable run to the NCAA Tournament as a second year
program while also posting a perfect 4.00 gpa in Aerospace
Engineering. He posted a 10-14 record in singles, mostly in the No.
