ECC Men's Tennis Report - Week 10

Player of the Week
Cameron Henricy, Queens (So - Las Palmas, Spain)
Henricy went 2-0 in No. 1 singles play and 1-0 in No. 1 doubles last week. He began the week earning a two-set victory over Chirs Fok Kow of No. 29 nationally ranked Florida Southern College Thursday afternoon. He would conclude the regular season with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Alex Lumanog of Daemen in ECC play.

Rookie of the Week
Ondrej Sramek, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fr - Trebechovice pod Orebem, Czech Republic)
Sramek went 4-2 last week for the Spartans (2-1 Singles & 2-1 Doubles), as the maroon and gold wrapped up regular season play with three straight victories to earn a share of the 2023 ECC Regular Season title.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Moritz Borges, Queens (Gr - Dinslaken, Germany)
Borges went undefeated in double play going 4-0 including three wins against three nationally ranked Florida teams. Despite rain forcing two matches to be abandoned, the graduate earned doubles victory in all three matches played in the Sunshine State. He would end his regular season with a 2-0 day against Daemen in ECC play earning a 6-4 victory at No. 2 doubles before earning a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles against Phillip Vance on Saturday afternoon.

Zachary Laplante, Daemen (Sr - Ottawa, Ontario)
Zachary Laplante was the only Daemen player to win both doubles and singles in the Wildcats' 5-2 loss to Franklin Pierce on Sunday evening. Along with fellow senior Phillip Vance, the duo won No. 2 doubles, 6-3, against Alejandro Ortiz & Paul McLellan. Laplante went on to beat Joshua Arnold in No. 5 singles 6-2, 1-6, 11-9.

Louis Mangeon, Dist. Columbia (Sr - Belbeuf, France)
Mangeon was undefeated on the week going 4-0. In the match against VSU, he blanked his opponent and then went on to win both his singles and doubles match up against STAC at the No.1 position.

ECC Team Notes

Daemen: No team notes submitted.

District of Columbia: Men's Tennis went 1-1 on the week to end the regular season. They defeated Virginia State University and fell to STAC.

Queens: The Knights went 1-1 on the week as rain interfered in two matches. ECC Men's Tennis Championship takes place this week, more details to follow soon.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Men's Tennis team (17-1, 5-1 ECC) went 3-0 last week to end regular season play, winning matches with Chestnut Hill (5-2), Dominican (7-0) and UDC (6-1). STAC returns to action at the ECC Championship Tournament on April 21-22 at Queens College.
