ECC Softball Report - Week Seven

Player of the Week
Steph Conrade, Molloy (Sr, OF - Franklin Square, N.Y.)
Conrade set a Molloy single-game record with seven RBI in the opening game of a doubleheader against Staten Island, going 4-for-5 with a triple and a run scored. The center fielder added another hit, an RBI single, in the second game of the sweep of the Dolphins for a .556 batting average on the week.

Pitcher of the Week
Lauren Booth, D'Youville (JR, P - Lancaster, N.Y.)
Booth earned the wins in both starts this weekend over ECC foes, allowing just two hits in 6.1 shutout innings versus Queens on Sunday after a complete-game win over CSI on Friday. Overall, Booth allowed just nine hits and three earned runs over 13.1 innings for a 1.57 ERA. 

Rookie of the Week
Cayla Crawford, Mercy (Fr, C - Hemet, Calif.)
Crawford hit a team-high .611 (11-for-18) with seven runs, two home runs, two RBI and three stolen bases as Mercy went 3-3 on the week. The freshman opened the week going 4-for-6 with three runs and a home run in the split with Queens on Thursday. The catcher then went 4-for-6 with four runs and a home run in Mercy's sweep of Queens on Friday. Crawford ended the week going 3-for-6 at Felician on Sunday.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Laura Beck, D'Youville (So, OF - Clifton Park, N.Y.)
Beck hit .333 with two extra base hits, six runs scored, and two RBI over six games last week. 

Allyson Dilday, Queens (Sr, P - Castle Rock, Colo.)
Dilday put in three complete-game efforts as the graduate student pitched 19.0 inning allowing 15 hits, and one earned run with 21 strikeouts on the week. In the 3-2 victory over Mercy Thursday afternoon, Dilday limited the Mavericks to six hits while tying a season-high nine strikeouts (3x) as she earned her team-leading fifth victory of the season.

Samantha Franck, Mercy (Sr, 1B - La Habra Heights, Calif.)
Franck hit .353 (6-for-17) with a team-high five RBI to go along with a home run, three runs, and two stolen bases as Mercy went 3-3 on the week. The senior went 3-for-7 with a run and an RBI in the split at Queens on Thursday. The first baseman then went 3-for-3 with two runs, three RBI, and a home run in the game one win over Queens on Friday.

Abbie Landrum, St. Thomas Aquinas (So, P/IF - Buena Park, Calif.)
Landrum twirled a two-hit, eight inning shutout in a 1-0 win over Dominican University last weekend. She struck out nine and allowed only four base runners in notching her seventh win of the season. For the week, Landrum went 1-1 with an impressive 1.09 earned run average in three outings.

ECC Team Notes

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Mercy: The Mercy College softball team went 3-3 on the week against Queens and Felician. The Mavericks were led by freshman Cayla Crawford who hit a team-high .611 on the week. Mercy resumes action on Tuesday when they play at STAC at 2:30 p.m.

Molloy: No team notes submitted.

Queens: The Knights went 1-5 on the week including a doubleheader split against Mercy in Flushing. Queens continues ECC play with their lone DH of the week in Staten Island against CSI on Tuesday (Apr. 18) afternoon.

Staten Island: The Dolphins were without a win this week in six games as they played Molloy and D'Youville in conference play and took on Adelphi in non-conference play.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball team (18-13, 7-2 ECC) went 4-4 last week, sweeping doubleheaders with Alliance (8-0 & 1-0) and Dominican (1-0 & 7-4). STAC returns to action on April 18 vs. Mercy, April 20 vs. Bloomfield, April 22 vs. D'Youville, and April 23 at Staten Island.
