ECC Softball Report - Week Five

Player of the Week
Hannah Bardeen, D'Youville (Sr, C - Amherst, N.Y.)
Bardeen hit a scorching .667 (8-for-12) with two doubles, one home run, four RBI, and six runs scored on the week. She had multiple hits in all four games played and added one stolen base. Bardeen also came through in the clutch for the Saints, drilling a three-run home run to help erase a five-run deficit as D'Youville topped Mercy to earn the doubleheader split.

Pitcher of the Week
Allyson Dilday, Queens (Gr, P - Castle Rock, Colo.)
In four complete games, Dilday earned three victories on the week. She tossed 27.0 innings allowing 26 hits and five earned runs while striking out 20 batters. The graduate began the week earning her first career shutout in Flushing as she limited the CSI bats to two hits while tying a career-high nine strikeouts in the 3-0 ECC victory. Against AIC, she would allow five hits with one earned run and struck out seven batters as Queens earned a 3-1 victory on Thursday afternoon. In the 3-1 victory over Dominican, Dilday limited the Chargers to six hits, zero earned runs, and struck out four batters to earn her third victory in four days.

Rookie of the Week
Eliana Raposo, St. Thomas Aquinas (Fr, P/OF - Wareham, Mass.)
The freshman from Wareham, Mass., helped STAC win all four of its games this week. Her .462 batting average (6-for-13) included her second career homer. She also drove in five runs and scored seven times.


ECC Weekly Honor Roll

Ann Grimshaw, Queens (Sr, UTL - New Hyde Park, N.Y.)
Over eight games, Grimshaw batted .414 with 12 hits, three doubles, one home run, seven RBI and one run scored. The senior tallied two three-hit games on the week. The New Hyde Park native went 3-for-4 with a double, and one home run as Queens defeated CSI, 3-1, in ECC play before she tallied her second straight three-hit game against AIC going 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI.

Amanda King, Molloy (Sr, P/UTL - Guilford, Conn.)
King went 4-0 on the week, putting up a 2.80 ERA in two complete games, striking out 13. The graduate student sat down seven batters against Queens, allowing jus one earned run. At the plate, she hit .333 with six RBI and five runs scored.

Abbie Landrum, St. Thomas Aquinas (So, P/IF - Buena Park, Calif.)
The sophomore from Buena Park, Calif., recorded a 2-0 record this week with wins over Mercy and the College of Staten Island. Her earned run average in the week was an impressive 1.08. At the plate, Landrum batted .625 with five hits and six RBI to help STAC post a 4-0 record in the week. In an 11-0 win over CSI, she led the offense with a pair of run-producing singles and also scored twice.

Shannon Sisco, Mercy (Jr, OF - Cicero, N.Y.)
Sisco hit a team-high .550 (11-for-20) with a team-high-tying seven runs to go along with three RBI, two doubles, two triples and two stolen bases. The junior opened the week going 3-for-5 with a run against STAC on Tuesday. The outfielder then went 5-for-8 with two runs and an RBI at Molloy on Thursday. Sisco went 3-for-7 with four runs, two triples and two RBI at D'Youville on Sunday.

ECC Team Notes

D'Youville: No team notes submitted.

Mercy: The Mercy College softball team went 1-5 on the week with a win over D'Youville and losses to STAC, Molloy and D'Youville. The Mavericks were led by senior Samantha Franck who had a team-high six RBI. Mercy resumes action on Tuesday when they host CSI at 2:30 p.m.

Molloy: No team notes submitted.

Queens: The Knights went 4-4 on the week which included a conference sweep over CSI Tuesday before earning DH splits against AIC and Dominican. Queens returns to action in Dobbs Ferry on Thursday against Mercy before welcoming STAC to town on Saturday.

Staten Island: The Dolphins opened the week with two thrilling wins against D'Youville before dropping their next four games in conference play against Queens and St. Thomas Aquinas.

St. Thomas Aquinas: The St. Thomas Aquinas College Softball team (11-7, 4-0 ECC) went 4-0 last week, sweeping doubleheaders with Mercy (11-2 & 11-1) and Staten Island (6-4 & 11-0). STAC returns to action on April 3 at D'Youville, April 4 vs. Molloy and April 8 at Queens.
